going to do this challenge this month as I have received my renewal letter for the house insurance and was horrified at the price.....£428.78 in 12 monthly payments.

Following the advice on this site I went to the price comparrison sites and came up with £250 over 12 months or £208 for a one off payment!!! :T

That means that if this insurance quote is kept when I ring them it will save £220!!!! :j Could do with paying over 12 months but the difference is too great.

BTW - Happy New Year to all!!!!

All mine are to be virtual savings.

    £8.53 on other grocery offers.

I have also listed some things on ebay, so fingers crossed!

Bear with me here - I'm new to the boards and am still trying to get my head around all this! Have set my grocery challenge at £280 this month including all household stuff (OK - still needs to come down but it was £415!). Two weeks in my spend is 127.67 (£12.33 under budget) so if I carry on and keep under budget the difference is Pin money yes? I've had a £5 sale on eBay so I can add that too? And what about the saving by listing all my stuff yesterday on a 5p listing day? (I probably posted more than I would normally but it is all stuff that needs to go). And I have saved £2.30 on offers (those are the ones I can remember - I haven't been keeping track properly from the start).

So have I got the idea? My goal is a slow cooker (£21.97) - I have already ordered it actually so have to make at least that!

OK - better go and update my signature!

Yes, ladywood, I would class all of the savings you've identified as PMS! You are doing brill!

It's been a bit of a slow start to the year for me re aPMS, with £20 2nd income and £2.50 for selling a book on green metropolis. Still, I think I only set my target at £50, so that's nearly half way.

vPMS has been a little more "fruitful", mainly with coupons. Had a little tidy up of the receipt pile recently IYKWIM, so I don't know by how much exactly.

    Anyhow, keep plugging away, everybody......
  • Doing quite well so far with coupons and bogofs. Earned a lot with Asda's bogof offer on Glist with the money off coupons inside as well. got my cashback credit card statement today and it's the cashback anniversary. Can I add the cashback saving to my pin money savings as well as it's money I wouldn't ordinarily get? Or doens't that count?
Books - the original virtual reality.

our "month" finishes tomorrow as we're paid 4-weekly. Only started half way through by putting any change I have in a pot and have accumulated £4.47. Which since I was on extremely limited amounts for my groceries I thought wasn't too bad ;) Also checked online banking and have £5 left over which I've transferred to savings. :T

Not too much, but we've gotta start somewhere!!
Debts - [STRIKE]£9925.64[/STRIKE] £8841.88 :T Aiming to get below £9k by the end of Oct. :D:D:D November aim - sub £7.5k!

Have not kept the records well but have a vpm of about £300 this month. It is mainly the house insure being cheaper from online searching but also saved on shopping, sold on ebay some of ds clothes and bought birthday presents in the sales.

All this saving is getting me infront with everything which is lovely after being in debt so long. Just trying to balance the books better and this is making the difference.

I got a whole £1.07 for pin money yesterday. :) My local shop issues vouchers for milk if they don't have any in when you call so that your next one is free :D

Add to that the 4p dividend from my last shop in the co-op and I'm up to a whacking great £4.28 for the month! Yay! (Well it's a good total for me!)
