sickasaparrot wrote: »LADY HERMON SUPPORTS PRESBYTERIAN SAVERS (a synopsis)
Lady Hermon has met with representatives from Shore St. Church, Donaghadee. Lady Hermon, as a Presbyterian herself was utterly dismayed and extremely angry as more and more details of the PMS fiasco unfolded.
She said hundreds of Presbyterians throughout N. Down trusted the PMS to invest their savings wisely and have been seriously let down by the Society.
Lady Hermon said she would take immediate action. As well as writing immediately to the FSA calling for a comprehensive and transparent investigation into PMS, she has also asked the local Trade and Investment minister Arlene Foster to respond to specific enquiries.
These include a request for the disclosure of any bonuses or salaries paid to the Directors of the society in the months immediately preceeding it going into administration.
Given the seriousness of this matter for thousands of Presbyterians she said she will be striving to work together with public representatives from other political parties, including DUP, to ensure we get the best outcome for savers.
Has anyone get contact details for Lady Hermon? Seeing as she seems to be scratching where it itches I would like to put my three and fourpence in an email to her. Don't worry I promise to use the Queen's English.:silenced:
By the way, spare a thought for the many Presbyterians in the Republic of Ireland who have money in the PMS. I bet they feel even more isolated and bereft than we do.
If any of you are hiding in the wings of this thread please come forward and tell us what it is like for you.

Thanks expat
Buy-to-let .....unless the borrower plans to live in the property later .......
Surely some Ministers got advances to purchase properties say in Portstewart and currently have tenants in them - then when they retire from Ministry - they can move into the houses - surely this should have been regulated too!!!0 -
Didnt Lady Hermon lecture in law at Queens or did my brain just make that up??
One thing to keep in mind (based on quote from Lady H article) is that directors whatever we think of them, unlike the directors of the many banks the government has bailed out, took what looks like expenses only and certainly no big bonuses. Just to be clear that not being paid didnt lessen their statutory duties under law.0 -

Would it be worthwhile contacting the administrator's solicitor directly?
I already did and I think some others have as well. He is a lawyer so he wont give away anything he shouldnt but he clearly knows his stuff. He had me shut up in a very short time !! He looks like Ross Kemp as well so he probably does the debt collection thing himself:D0 -
