It may have had to be withdrawn for legal reasons . I know my post querying it is still there, but the original from JoyLTS [I think] seems to have disappeared. Maybe send her a PM?

Strange old world - thought we were all working together to get our life's savings back for everyone concerned.

This is what may have happened-

The email came from the somewhere? - if you see previous posts regarding writting letters to Politicians etc - which apparently has now folded as all of their work has been done! - ie writing letters etc to Government politicians - its seems to have been sent to the Presbytery Clerks, then on to ministers and then on to those lucky enough to have email addresses in the congregations. I do not know if the PCI agreed for this to happen or not. Doubt it though.

I received the email as I am sure many others did - and I THOUGHT we were all in this together and for those not fortunate enough to be privvy and not on the selected email list - and posted it - it was later taken off - cannot understand how it was okay to forward round so many people - yet can't be viewed on this site - perhaps because it had telephone numbers on it!!! I don't know.

But as far as I see - some people are privvy to information and some are not.

Bottom line is - it has caused serious concern and panic - and I think the only advice is the Administrator's advice.

    See www.presbyterianmutualsociety.co.uk

I and am sure many others have benefitted from this website - working out this whole debacle from beginning to where we find ourselves now.

THERE IS NO HIDDEN AGENDA - we are trying to find out what happened our savings and who is responsible and get it returned.

    Thats all

    SORRY,NOMAD25 - AND EVERYONE-I DIDN'T POST THE (NOW MISSING !!) INFORMATION ON THE FORUM....
  • I am just new to the forum, found it on the internet when I heard by chance about the email regarding the PMS.

My wife is a saver in the PMS, unfortunately after selling our house we put all the money into the PMS short term till we found a suitable property, we are now renting and have no real hope of getting a loan for a bike never mind a house.

We didn't receive this famous email, we would really appreciate it if any one could get it to us or even the number on it.

    Thank you

    You are very welcome cotagain:j
I hope you find this site the support i have over the past few months! It has been the only thing that has kept me sane (Well relatively sane! ) in the midst of this turmoil.
Sorry to hear of your sad story --like so many more of us PMSers who have suffered so much just because we trusted our money to the 'completely safe' hands of the PMS.
I wouldn's focus too much on the said email. This forum has seen many twists and turns with occasionally folk going along a few dead ends, a few cul de sacs:o perhaps members trying to do their best for everybody on the forum but occasionally this may slightly muddied the waters!! BUT HEY!! You've arrived so that is good!!
Over the months I have found there to be a wide range of emotions, perspectives and some folk can have very different solutions as how to we should proceed.
BUT I think we need to refocus now on the task ahead to get as much money back as possible. So we Forum members have all been writing, writing, writing to anyone we can think would help our cause --PMs, MPs MLAs, Lords, Ladies, Drs (Not medical !)and some just plain Mr or Mrs!!
I have found writing stuff down to be a great emotional help!

Today i booked my afternoon off work on June 2nd FOR THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY. :D so Belfast here i come!!
  • I agree with you Ballygal. This forum has kept me sane over the past 5-6 Months. I want yo say Thank You to those good Christian folk who have tried to untangle what has happened to our hard earned savings, its our only means of communication with other PMS savers.

I write this with tears in my eyes.

Please everyone keep writing to the important people, lobbying remains open.

Welcome - and this is the worrying thing - that the selective emails are only reaching a certain amount of savers -

This is why this forum is so important -

There are still thousands of savers out there - none-the-wiser.

Will pm you the details and you can pick your own Solicitor!!!

Next Tuesday 5th May is the last meeting for each Presbytery before the General Assembly.

You all need to act now.

    SUGGESTION:
Send your letter outlining your personal case of hardship and abandonment to the Clerk of Presbytery appealing to him to make a case for the savers in your Presbytery at the General Assembly which takes place 1st week of June.

In the letter, request from the Presbytery Clerk if he can make himself available, providing you with available dates so that he can attend a Presbytery wide meeting of PMS savers.

Nominate a person(s) who will take responsibility for contacting all of the churches in the Presbytery notifying them of venue, date and time of the meeting. The Clerk may even assist with this by giving the nominee the addresses and email addresses of the ministers.

All you need to do is attend. Remember if we miss 5th May it will be very difficult to co-ordinate and get people gathered together.

    Welcome your thoughts.

Once dates for meetings have been arranged, post on the blog and perhaps a co-ordinated note to the Newsletter would be helpful.
