Eon - Frequency of Bills

Comments

  • I use the internet for my e-on account and have paperless billing. My last bill was in August and when I submitted readings at the end of October it showed my next bill was due around 11 November. Someone came and read the meter over a week ago and I expected an e-mail shortly after to say my bill was available online but haven't received anything. I logged onto my account anyway and it now says my next bill is due in February, not November as previously stated. I've e-mailed e-on to find out why but haven't yet received a reply. Six months is too long between bills and if this is what they are now doing I'll probably change supplier. However, hope it's just a glitch in the system and they'll sort it soon.

By the way I pay by monthly direct debit - not sure if that makes a difference though.

Since your next bill date has changed to February it means that your bill is being processed so I'd imagine you've now had an email saying it's ready (or if not you'll get one soon).
  • Have received a reply from e-on apologising for not receiving a November bill. They are now releasing it and it will be available within a couple of days. My bills have always been on time before and this one is over two weeks late so it wasn't 'being processed' it had actually been missed. I'm sure I won't be the only one.
  • Depends on a lot of things really, your bill might have been suspended for a number of reasons - strange meter readings, high/low consumption, a change to the billing cycle.

Sometimes it just depends on how the quarter falls.

There's no problem with calling up with readings and getting a statement produced from those readings at any time.

i pay via direct debit each month, and i always have got my bill every 3 months... just checked my next bill is december 3rd.
  • Is anybody having trouble with Eon again? I was due a bill 3rd Feb but haven't received one and my account shows my next bill is due in May? I have paperless billing, so it isn't due to any postal delays.

My bills (online) were every 3 months up til 2nd nov. Since then, I've had bills on 2nd dec, 2nd jan and 3rd feb. Looks like they've changed me to monthly billing  I've always paid by monthly DD, so I have no idea why it's changed. Having said that, the bills are always right so I don't worry about it.

    Hi Tru

You should receive a bill every three months, unless you have been changed on to the monthly billing trial.

If this is the case you should have been notified about this change.

I'd speak to E.ON and just check, as it sounds like you manage your account online you can adjust your own Direct Debit to ensure this is covering your usage.

I'd also check out the online tariffs as well, you can look at alternatives on the quote and switch link.

Why would he be looking at alternative quotes when he's not been receiving a bill?

Helena stop touting and why are YOU an approved company rep?

filmnoir, I think Helena was advising me, not Felix ;)

Helena, my DD was put up 2 months ago with no warning (I don't disagree with the amount so I've left it as it is) and I've never heard of the trial :D

TBH I don't mind how often the bill is, as long as it's correct - which it is. Weird how I've not had notification of either of the changes though
