When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Today I will: check online banking
update spreadsheets
storecupboard meals - making soup for lunches
make a loaf in breadmaker
go for swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership
not use car
try and have a no spend day
continue de cluttering my wardrobe:eek: - I know there is clothes in there somewhere:o
Busy day ahead here, have an appraisal with my line manager:rolleyes: and then a big project meeting with social services this afternoon. Will probably miss lunch and run over my work hours so not looking forward to it.
Have a good day everyone:D

I went in to work today to pick up £15 for a 45 minute session, and will be back in later to hopefully pick up more later!
I will investigate mystery shopping as a side-earner. I am not sure what kind of money I could expect to make, but £50 per month would pay for quite a lot of things!Debt at LBM - £7992.46
Current Debt - £6218.56
So far - 22.2% of debt paid off!0 -
Morning all :wave:
Trying to jolly myself on into a good mood today, but aching like mad from the gym (it even hurts to sneeze!) and shocked how slowly the week is going - it's ONLY Wednesday!
Today I will/have:
• Checked online banking / CC / Quidco / surveys / Amazon / Ebay (phew!)
• Brought breakfast & lunch to work
• Put a casserole in the slow cooker this morning for tonight with ingredients we already had
• Walk to post office at lunch time, instead of driving, to post Amazon sale
• Enter a few more competitions
• Do wash on eco setting tonight
• Clean house through tonight and turn out more stuff for ebay
• Still keep my fingers, legs, toes and arms crossed our house purchase goes through!
Sure there's a few other bits but my brain aches to think of them at the moment...
Have a good day everyone xx0 -

Have checked my Credit Expert file and things have been updated overnight. Emailed them to place a notice of correction on my account to show the account as closed (which the Halifax should have done themselves);
Will do some comps later;
Need to post some ebay parcels;
Ordered a £10 Tesco voucher from Valued OpinionsAlmost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
I walked to work (3 miles) instead of getting the bus - saving £1.80 bus fare.
I located another charity shop on my walk to work - it was shut, but noted for a future time (now buy most of my clothes from charity shops).
I brought my lunch with me.
I have a short lunch break today so not much chance of spending any money

Determined to have a better day today. To top it all off yesterday I managed to get a virus on PC from facebook. Luckily hubbie is a computer whizz and fixed it last night.
Today I have/will
- chase Halifax credit card for the refund they promised would be paid into my (now over-overdrawn) current account yesterday...
- check for mystery shops
- clicks and surveys
- start ucas application for uni (hoping to start Jan 2010 - apprently have to start applying now!)
- work tonight
and that's it I think! Have a good day all!
