I know I'm a novice on here but why are you all jumping on the Pickles Pink character and why do you care if he or she has a house and how much it is worth? I thought forums were for discussion, I belong to several I haven't ever seen this sort of gang behaviour before, this is very personal for a load of people who don't even know each other. Can't you all just let it go and be friens?

It's a long and unpleasant story P1M - have a trot back through PPs previous posts - you will get the picture!
  • We must agree all of the time lir, because I'm always right. ;)

I'm with you on the sharing of numbers comment. I've done it myself on the DFW and especially on the MFW where we share our mortgage repayment details (not equity details) to encourage our MF goals. I've even discussed my pension details on here and in the pension forum. Again, done for legitimate reasons.

PP seems to be coming apart a little, and I have found her latest rantings to make me less likely to believe her than more. I asked some specific questions about how she became mortgage free on her current property, but all she could say is that she sold a house for .5M - but in order to have made a .5M profit she would have had to be mortgage free on that property.

You can judge whether people are telling the truth on forums by the amount of accurate and consistent information they supply.

Dithering Dad's Quote: In pickledpink's case I reserve judgement until more information is supplied.

    :rotfl:

Why, thank you kind Sir!! How kind of you to make your judgment of me once I've furnished you with more information!!!

I do hope you will be fair in your assessment of me, Oh Grand One!

The trouble with you, Dotherey, is that you don't want to believe I sold.bought a .5M home. That's YOUR problem!:p

Of course, if I suffered from the same sense of insecurity that you clearly do, I would feel the need to prove it to you and a bunch of cyber strangers.:rotfl:

I don't have to prove anything to you - and I value my security and privacy. You've already tried to delve into my personal life: asking me my age, where I sold, where I bought, how much I paid, how I paid off my mortgage.............and that's all confidential information in my opinion!

I couldn't give a flying fig whether you believe me or not, suffice to say that I DO own my property outright, I DO have other financial interests (not all my money is tied up in property you know!) and I do have an interest in another property.

I don't need to explain to you how I was in the fortunate position to buy my present property outright - and how I managed to pay off the mortgage on my previous home - but I did do - just like millions of others have!:p

And I'm not going to apologise to you that I've been financially more fortunate than yourself; in just the same way I wouldn't expect someone who was wealthier than me to ask for my forgiveness!!:rotfl:

My situation has come about by a mixture of savviness and luck.

And that's all I'm prepared to tell you.

If you don't want to believe it because it upsets you then I suggest you go and have a lie down and a stiff glass of Sanatogen.:D
  • lol, Hi pickles. This is getting ridiculous, the '!!!!!!? disease' of multiple usernames is catching fast!! :rotfl:

    You're having a laugh aren't you, DD???:D

It's YOU who has multople usernames on here! You hypocrite!!

In fact, I'll find the post where you replied under one of your many other usernames as Dithering Dad!:o :rotfl: :o :rotfl: :o :rotfl:

    THAT was hilarious!!:rotfl:

I know that a lot of people on this site find you rude. And you've said some very below-the-belt comments!

I think that I actually prefer !!!!!! and carolt to you PP, at least amongst the ramblings they supply some decent information. You just seem to post delusional mutterings about a life you wished you led.

    It's sad really.

:( <- look, this is me being sad about PP's delusional life.

Can't believe you're still banging on with the same old tripe. I have to say that you get a mental picture of people on this forum and a little insight into their character from how they write and debate. Most people I like, even if their views are opposite to mine. They seem like normal well balanced humans most of whom you'd like to go down the pub with, but every line you write is oozing venom from your viper's tongue. God help your other half......if you have one.

I think it's YOU who wishes they led the life I lead!

Look - :p < this my response to you!

You're all in a Dither because you're Disgruntled.

Anyway, I haven't posted on here about the life I lead - if I did you'd be even MORE dithery!:p

Why do you hate the fact that some people have a more comfortable life than you have? You don't know them (or me) so it really shouldn't worry you.

Would it make you feel better if I lived in a tent - or on a sink estate? And if I did, how would that improve your own circumstances?

My being comfortably off should have no affect on you at all. I'm just a stranger.

I think you could do with a good dose of counselling. I really mean that.

But this isn’t a concept that makes any sense in economic terms: demand isn’t demand unless it is backed by cash.

In my household, there is pent-up demand for a bottomless bottle of Ren rose bath oil, for a brand- new VW Jetta (diesel) and for a very bling yellow diamond necklace. But is this demand going to push up the prices of these items? Of course not. Not unless someone dumps a pile of money to splurge on our doorstep. Which they won’t. These days no one dumps money on anyone’s doorstep.

And that, combined with the miserable sentiment across the market to say nothing of rising unemployment, is why, however low interest rates go, house prices aren’t going to stop falling."

Bang on carolt! There is also a pent up demand for a good many things in the moany household. An emerald and diamond ring is top of my list. A wardrobe full of good quality - co-ordinated clothes. A house in France - wow, I could really get going here! Then there is Mr. Moany's list ......

If what the news today has been saying is true - the price of some of these things is dropping. Still not rushing out to the shops tomorrow. :D

I don't have any feelings one way or the other for anyone who has a more comfortable life than myself, especially strangers on an internet forum. I just find it interesting to debate the reasons why you feel you have to brag about your comfortable life on a forum and yet not supply any information on how you obtained said life.

It's very revealing that when someone asks a simple question on how you managed to become mortgage free, you turned it into a slagging match. No wonder then that I started to believe that your perfect life was an invention.

I therefore ask again, in the interests of those of us who are also working to become mortgage free, how did you do it?

I have read little other than slagging off, my thoughts are her/his circumstances are the exact opposite of what they are trying to portray, probably lives in a rat infested hovel, with zero prospects, definitely sad and probably true, either way I have no care for people like this, whether they are billionaires or chavs. Money and possessions come a poor second to being a decent person.
