What did you get Ostr******* for?

I dont want to dredge it all up again, but numerous things namely my uncompromising ambition, a willingness to engineer my circumstances to fit whatever is most profitable for me, for going to uni just to get a load of money in student loans/grants so I could buy a house, then buying and selling houses every few months and making a lot of money whilst being an uni and being a 22 y/o single parent (apparently I must be a fantasist/liar cos I cant possibly have done all this by myself) The fact that I'm also a model (sideline, as and when work comes in) clearly cements my position as a day dreamer/liar, for having a disability that I receive DLA for (since most MSE users seeingly know more than my consultants, it is said that I almost certainly must be faking it all) for not having any major moral issues about trying to get away with as much from the system as the law allows me to (apparently I should say, yes Im legally entitled to it, but I dont really need it so Gordon you can keep it and spend it on asylum seekers/MPs expenses/illegal wars) and the fact that from my own initiative and forward thinking have constructed a good life for me and my young son, makes me the spawn of the devil.

Im a businesswoman what can I say? Not my fault if all the regular housewives on here aren't wired up to think entrepenurially

Still, lets not go down this avenue; this thread has survived 7 pages, lets go getting it closed down....

I think it varies immensely MissK_, no-ne is suggesting that there is a uniform drop. FTR I think you are better placed than most as houses near good schools tend to hold value more than say a 'trendy new city centre lifestyle apartment'.

That said I know of someone who placed a 2 up 2 down (north midlands) on the market over a year ago for £92k valued by a 'realistic' valuer, they ended taking £78k last week. A sub £60k house has just gone on the market in the same area.

Yeah I totally agree, in central Lancaster there are hundreds of boards up and nothing seems to be selling, when I look in EA's windows they're all being reduced. Houses I viewed 12 months ago at £125,000 are now being dropped to £112-115,000 but then they have no parking, are on industrial row after row of identicle terraced houses, and are mostly occupied by students. The village I live in is mostly families (despite actually being closer to the uni than the city centre) the streets are quite small where kids can play out safely, there are no main roads in the immediate vicinity....these are all factors families look at and if your house has something in high demand by someone, it will always have value

True enough, though it is fair to say that all types of property in all locations are falling some at a higher rate than others.

Current climate dictates that it is unlikely a prospective buyer will be caught in a bidding war.

I can beat that (well if we are talking about lack of wealth anyway), I have £5.01! :rotfl:

My garden is big too......but I don't own it, if I ever move out of here the next social tenant is going to be lumbered with a fully landscaped garden (I'm trying the boasting thing out to see if it suits :D )

    £5.00, beat that!

I've already been mugged for all my change. I don't hold much hope to be leaving the office with my fiver intact. Bloody children in need

Hehe...can beat you again (in the winning sense and nothing more! :rotfl: ), I now have the grand total of £2.27 in my purse!

Two of my children had dress down day today, only one took part (paid his money weeks ago, they like to get it in advance), the other one doesn't like wearing anything other than his uniform for school...home clothes are for home in his eyes. I do usually pay for the dress down but things were a bit eeek first thing this morning and we were running late so completely forgot!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
