Medion 1GB (expandable) MP3 player £24.99 at Kwik Save

So is the general consensus that this player is a reasonable alternative to finding an internal 2/3Gb internal memory player and just use this one instead and buy a 1/2GB SD card to use with it? Spotted a couple on the shelf near us yesterday and hadn't seen this thread before

you could try netto they were doing 4 rechargeable batteries and recharger for only £3.99

without a doubt... I was after one (but holding off until I go to the far east in a few months). I use SD card with a USB-key adaptor as a memory stick, in my digital camera, in my camcorder, and intend to buy a PDA that uses SD or mini-SD (which can be used as SD in a convertor).

It'd be great if, say I'm going somewhere, to have a load of songs on a 512 card for the journey there, to then reformat the card and put my photos on it. Just it's so much more flexible than something that's fixed.

yes have to do this, i'll make sure its recorded delivery the volume button were making ticking noise anyway. not happy but its defo a good buy for 25 pounds

Has anyone had any problems using the unit with memory cards? I put a 1G card in it, but it doesn't recognise it at all - says zero external memory. Card's ok, as my PC's got a direct card reader and it works fine in there. Does it need to be formatted in a particular way?

Must admit that I've mislaid the instructions, but there's nothing obvious in the pdf file on the driver CD. I wondered if it was temperamental about accepting 1G cards. Perhaps try a smaller card?

Just tried a 1GB PNY SD card in mine and works fine.

Try checking how the card is formatted and see what Medion say about how this prefers the cards to be.
But overall, 1GBs definatly work.

Mine has problems with a 2gb sd card. It won't switch on with the card in, but if you switch it on, then put the card in, it works ok, seems to read and write to the full 2gb

I think my random is not quite right.
I have around 250 songs on it and it keeps repeating the same 20 odd.
I have tried RANDOM and RANDOM ALL but no difference (what IS the difference?).
Might be as I just uploaded some new songs to it as its stuck playing only those (but not ALL of them)...
Most puzzling and slightly anoying !

Guys I cant find my reciept and kwik save wont give me another as they say they only issue one so as you know from this thread I got mine in january is it possible as a goodwill you can scan yours and I can print that and send it too medion for registration. Please
I was going to buy another to get recipt but they dont have any.
