How are you all doing after the 27th October rule changes?

  • This is the whole reason I started this thread.

The instruction from them is to report the FIRST payment after the 27th October, BUT if that is not the correct whole amount (due to CSA being paid a month in arrears or whatever other reason) what on earth is the point of it? how can benefits be reassessed to it if it's not correct?????

    :confused::mad::rolleyes:

    will do
dont hold your breathe for them to say anything useful
  • Just an update on letting income support know. None of my payments have came with any letters (giros). I just rang IS and verbally told them the amount I was getting and they altered the amount I receive. I didn't need to send any proof from CSA just put what I had told them in writing. So fingers crossed ex will keep up with the payments. I asked what would happen if he failed and they said just to ring them and they would send the extra IS to me stright away, I wonder if it will be that easy eh, I will find out eventually because the ex has never failed to let his kids down before, hes not even been intouch with them for months and he only lives 5 mins away.

    ok
rang jobcentre + they said i did have to put the £66 on the form but it wouldnt alter my IS as bellow what im allowed
he said i had to ring csa (what joy) about the amount

    so i did
he said we are allowed UP TO £80 to keep now
i said but its just such an odd amount
he said something about arrears being taken off?? i didnt really understand he said it may go up

he said ex was still paying as i thought he might not if he thought i was getting more

he also said its time he had a review and paid more
now rightly or wrongly i said not to bother
as i dont want to rock the boat and have him banging on my door(we dont see him)
i wouldnt get any more anyway
when im back to work and going to get his money then i will chase it up

do you think im mad lol?

well I phoned IS and they were pretty clueless didn't know what I was trying to tell them. The person I spoke to told me to contact the CSA, but when I told them that we weren't dealing with CSA anymore and that we have a private arrangement he said "but your not allowed to do that"

Anyway he finally took my details and someone is supposed to be contacting me......hopefully they will know what the hell they are talking about.

Lets hope this doesn't happen and you don't need to contact them..... mmmm let's hope.
