It is perhaps how they mislead and got the OP to sign. They bluff their way in, offer it cheaper, then bang. OP did not want this or the higher bills later, that is why OP has decided to tell SaS to get off and deal with the problem their way.Pink_fluff wrote: »but if your previous bills with your last supplier were £80, then did you not think £40 was a far too low? Did you not question that at the time?

I know op feels misled, but my point is - if somebody came to my door and told me I'd be paying half of what I was paying now, I'd think it was a bit odd.0

Yes, I agree and I would, did the same. Perhaps OP was not as astute as us professional users of MSE, hence they are here for advice and to sort things out.Pink_fluff wrote: »I know op feels misled, but my point is - if somebody came to my door and told me I'd be paying half of what I was paying now, I'd think it was a bit odd.
At least give OP advice they need, in this case I am.0 -
I am stupid that why, I am a lone parent and my bills with BG used to be £40 then they went up.
The women with soutern electric said that they are an independant company and that it is them who supply the main companys. She promised me that I was signing a fixed rate contract and it wasn't.
My bullsh**t meter must have been off line when she came, she seemed very genuine. Wins in 09 = A vodka cocktail kit thing lol, £150 Amazon voucher.0 -

do you have any arrears you are maybe paying off?
is the meter set high to build up an 'advance payment' fund?Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -
I have no idea whats so ever, I need to go re read my pack they gave me and see what it says.

I'd also check and see if you are due a refund from previous supplier - is the meter reading right for the changeover date from both companies?Debt free 4th April 2007.

check there isnt an outstanding debt on the meter - I have just moved into a rented house and SE supply the electric and gas there (NPower are taking over ASAP) When i rang SE to tell them i was the new tennant and that there was a debt on the meter from a previous tennant i was told "if we remove the debt how are we supposed to get our money back" to which i replied "i dont care, it isnt my debt!" eventually they subcontracted it to E:ON who came out today and replaced my leccy meter although he didnt have a new electric key so SE put £40 credit on there for me and told me when i topped up it would take the £40 back, so i have to top up with £50 to get £10's worth of leccy. Could it be they have done something similar with yourself? Sont call them at night, theres some dippy people on the call desk. I called at around 1pm today and spoke to a lovely gentleman who really helped me - even if it did take him 10 minutes to answer the phone!0
