Abbey's Account now with Visa Electron

You may or may not already know but i thought ill just let you know. Abbey no longer have a basic account. Its now called an Instant Plus Account which comes with a Visa Electron. I found this out today when i applied for a current account. Also no external checks done for an upgrade after six months!!!all done internally so quite a good account to get for people with bad credit like me!!!

I've just been on there website and that hasn't changed. It still says Basic bank account.

Will they open it easy enough for folks with bad credit??
It is true a friend got a visa elctron card the other day with it cos i borrowed it for the booking of ryanair flights!

i thought they got rid of instant plus years ago when they were taken over.

If you do an application online for a current account there is a box that asks you if you would like the instant plus account with the visa electron. yeah im looking to get a second account with them for personal reasons. To be honest i opened the account 1 year ago and i have around 5-7 defaults at the most with a £450 ccj and they still opened me a full current account with an electron with a cheque book. Not sure what they are like now though!!!

id presume they could accept bad credit, they accepted me a year ago. like i said not sure what they are like at the moment. ill let you know the outcome of my new application, even though i have had a charge each month im not likely to get the full current account so ill see if i get the basic one with an electron

were you sucessfull did they tell you straight away or send you letter.

would that not be a debit card if full current account

Try A&l part of abbey i got a full current account with visa debit ect and my credit is bad

well i stand corrected they still do the instant plus i had a look. How do you know they upgrade you did you telephone them and ask.
