I had to ring the vets this morning to arrange for my big buddy Barney, my 12 year old Lab to be put to sleep.
They are coming on Wednesday.
I haven't stopped crying all day. It was awful when they asked which day would be best for me. They were so nice though.
They are coming to my home as he is so terrified of the vets. He's a rescue Lab and has always hated going. I thought that the best place for him to go to sleep would be at home on his favourite blanket.
I didn't know whether to let him go straight away today, or spend a couple of more precious days with him, so i opted for the latter.
I know i won't sleep tonight, or tommorrow night, but i am trying to be strong for him.
I feel numb now and don't know how i will manage without him.

So sorry to hear that ((hugs)) to you and your dog.0

Be strong for him. He would hate to think you were upset over him
Just spend all the time you can with him. He is in pain and I know you dont think so at the moment but you are so doing the right thing for him. You have given him love, food, warmth and lots and lots of cuddles! :xmastree: :snow_laug Christmas Nutter :snow_laug:xmastree:0 -

Try and be strong for you both, try not to let hom see you are upset as it will unsettle him too and you both need to savour your last days together. It's one of the hardest, but bravest things you can do for your friend who has given you so much love. Love to you and Barney0

The hardest yet bravest descision we have to make for the furry friends we love.
I always think this is the last gift we can give to those who have given us so much, so unconditionally.

Your post brought a tear to my eye as I remember so well when I had to put my bestest friend to rest. My thoughts are with you, be strong:AWhen man sacrifices the Love of POWER for the Power of Love, there will be peace on earth.0
