  • Evening,

mmmm Diva, that has made me drool. I may well have a go at the weekend when I have time. Just needs dumplings & mash to go with it I think!!!
Sounds like there's lot of comfort-food making going on all over the thread today - just the weather for it.
Sistercas, I bought those cheesestrings too - and we also have "Mr Nobody" living in our house...
Dorry, fingers crossed for the job offer - only 2 more essays & a (short) dissertation to go :) Am really enjoying my new placement so far too.
Stefjb, hope your trainee did well & you weren't too bored.
MeanMarie, is the clementine cake easy? I've heard of it before though not got the recipe. None of us like fruit cake, so that might be a good one to try.

Thanks Twink for the update about PenPin, good to hear how she's doing.
Welcome (or welcome back) to people too :)

Came in about 15 mins ago, oldest DD been in since 2pm, youngest since lunchtime (but not well) and middle one since 3pm. Nobody has thought to start anything for dinner, or load the DW, or essentially do anything... Words will be had....

Meantime, think I will get a cuppa now.

    Hi everyone

Had a lovely day but not really OS. Went down to the Mar Menor and had a Menu Del Dia to celebrate our 35th WA today. Sat in the sun and relaxed, after a walk.

well I can recommend the sponges especially the lemon one but unfortunately the soup was a little hmmm yuck:o Kids ate it but gave me the look that meant do I have to?:rotfl: I have to put it down to either the left over cabbage or swede I threw in that did the damage as usually its really nice.I'll leave them out next time:rolleyes:

I did have a success today though as I made some currant teacakes in the remoska and they've come out absolutely huge!I definitely think the kids will only need one each for brekkie tomorrow:rotfl:

Managed to get all washing up done tonight (!), itchy baby dosed with piriton - never given it to any of my kids & it knocked him out, poor thing, but he was really itchy so had to give in. He's even got spots where the sun doesn't shine, IYKWIM :o poor lamb!! At least it's well before Christmas, so we'll be able to socialise by then.
Off to bed soon - want to try & get up before baby so I can do some more Christmas cards & wrap a couple of things to put away. Also see if I can bake before folks need the kitchen - DH was looking for nibbles earlier! :rotfl:
Night all, hope you all have a restful sleep, esp the poorlies xo

I think I may have been the one who mentioned the Amazon sale - they have some fantastic bargains in jewellery and watches at the moment - it is worth having a look at their bestsellers.

Have just ordered a gorgeous locket which is silver with mother of pearl for DD(14) should have been £25 and offered for about £7!!! Also a really cute bracelet with watch attached for about a fiver and it comes with three different bracelets it can be attached to!

Just glad I have already bought or ordered the quartet of books by Stephenie Meyer as they are selling fast and seem to be the "thing " for 14 year olds at the moment!!! Got most of them half price at Amazon and free postage at £5!!!

Made DD and DH some yorkies in the Remoska for lunch and made chips and egg in the Remoska for tea. Still trying to keep to low carb for myself.

Still have a couple of home made rolls left so made one for DDs school packed lunch tomorrow.

Thinking of penny pincher but not sure wether to hope she gets the op or cross my fingers it waits till she is ready to cope with it. Wishing her the very best of luck whatever happens.
