  • Hi everyone!

Lil-me - honey, I HAD been to bed.. :rotfl: At the moment because of my friend being ill in America I go to bed around 2130 and get up again at around 0300 ... My other half goes to bed at 0430 when he gets back from his dj gigs.. I guess I just didn't explain myself very well, as I was a bit sleepy still!.... My friend in America is in Montana and they are 7 hrs behind us, so I sleep and then get up when his evening starts.
Sunnyday - thanks honey it is a bit odd sleeping then waking in the early hours and then going back to bed again when most people are heading to work...
    Seraphina - welcome back hon!
Emmenelle - welcome2.gifto the thread! - have you thought of trying 'freecycle' for a bread maker? That is where we got ours. It's a rather large hitachi one but it makes delicious bread!
Tim - I was exhausted just reading your list, you are an inspiration indeed.
Kaat - finishing the trifle today, it is HUGE, so yes, you are very welcome! I found some big plump frozen cherries in the freezer, so they went in.
Squiggly - well I hope she does, but I think her head is too full of the whole moving house and what happens next for her, but I have MSE as my home page now, so she might meander in at some point!
Snowy - really pleased Dylan is being so generous lately!!
sickofhaving.. - Ok, I will put my hand up - I still love lambrini... I really can't drink 'proper' wine, I don't enjoy the flavour so anything rose and/or fizzy or low alcohol is perfect for me! (yes I know I am a philistine) Hope your little ones feel better soon hon
RosyRed - I was absolutely stunned and so upset Laura went, I had her or Diane to win!
Taplady - I think lovely John should have gone from Strictly too, I didn't warm to Heather but at least she could dance.
Lesley - your sponge puddings sound delicious - what time should I be there?

Cheese on toast for lunch and sausage, bacon and bean stew thingy for dinner - delicious! The weather is absolutely foul here and the OH has had to drive to Exeter to get the warning light on the car fixed.

    smileyhug.gifto all who need them!

Quite a bright day to-day, windy and cold but have managed to do a few things outdoors, even took the dog out the field for a while, gathered small sticks to light fire while I was there...something in me refuses to buy firelighters.

Shopping this morning, overspent a bit as Ulick was with me, so we got biscuits, dundee cake (!) sausages and rashers...none of which were on my list, he will be caught for several lots of milk and bread to pay me back!

Both grandsons home from school, fed and now watching tv...the allotted 30 mins is nearly up so then homework so that unfortunate parents won't be hassled by tired boys later on this evening.

Both brother and DS1 have birthdays to-morrow, will see brother to-morrow so have bought him an exciting present...underwear! DS1 will be here on Saturday, so taking him out for lunch but want to buy something as well, this is his first birthday in Ireland since his 24th birthday in 1995, so want to mark it somehow...if only I knew what to get it would be wonderful!

Clementines boiling at present for Nigella's cake, if it turns out well I will stick it in the freezer until Christmas Eve, not making 'normal' Christmas cake this year, just clementine one and rich chocolate cake.

Knitting will be main occupation for rest of evening....DSGs teddy has requested that I knit him a trousers and socks...didn't realise until after school that they both have to be finished to-day!

Hugs to all in need or want, thinking of PenPin especially, congratulations to all who are celebrating and welcome to newbies

Not had chance to post recently - trying to get Christmas things done & baby now has chickenpox, so no toddler groups this week (therefore no adults to talk to either, so will be on here a lot!).
Will read thread later, but hope you're all well, hugs & kisses to any in need! :grouphug: :kisses3:
Baby asleep for now, so going to finish last night's washing up & start spuds for tea. Wild & windy here, not too cold, though, heating just gone on, but it's very low. Made some lovely brownies yesterday from a library book on meals for kids - v. nice!! - got hazelnuts & loads of cocoa & chocolate in! Kitchen still smells nice so will brave the washing up & see you later! :rotfl:

    Afternoon all,

Its totally miserable here, has not stopped lashing it down all day, and its blowing a gale, set in for the night and all day tomorrow too  . Two small lots of washing done and on the rads, I turned the heating on earlier so that its warm for dd and OH coming home.

Apart from the school run this morning I have not been out of the house all day, but made two mince beef and onion pies, one for tonight one for the freezer, one lamb platt, a chilli for wednesday, and two dozes cookies, so feeling pleased with myself.

I also washed down all the cupboards in the kitchen and cleaned the tops of them, eugh where does all the gunky stuff come from, and I do clean them quite often honest :o

hugs where needed, and welcome to newbies xx

    Afternoon all.

I am SOOOO tired today, did lots of baking yesterday.
Tried making cherry pie, and made too much pastry:eek: , so instead of the planned walnut and coffee buns, I made what my grandmother used to call Welsh tartlets - little individual cakes with a pastry base with jam in, as per normal jam tarts, with a dollop of sponge mix on top to seal in the jam - that way they can go in Mr LW's lunchbox without making a mess.

I was supposed to visit the GP for a meds check tomorrow, Mr LW has taken the day off specially to take me, but now the surgery have phoned to cancel the appointment.   They wanted me to go Wednesday instead, but no dice as I can't have the car that day. So have rescheduled for 21st, when Mr LW has another day off. I'm blowed if I'm doing a 4 mile round trip on the mobility scooter in this weather!

Haven't read the weekend threads, but have quickly skimmed todays. Do I have it right that little Dylan Cat has managed a poo?:j

    Afternoon everyone,

i too had problems with the site this morning and eventually gave up, everything seems ok now though

Nothing much to report really, Mr Sunny has just arrived home so for tea we shall have one of the spag bols that i made yesterday - i`ve just managed to force the other one in the freezer with a yogurt. Thanks for posting about freezing yogurt Thriftlady, i never knew it was possible.

Both dogs have been for a long walk n the fields, little oldie wasn`t bad but the young one was absolutely black  she`s just been underneath the hosepipe in the garden so is much better now :D You`ve never seen a performance like it, imagine tazmanian devil with lots of water and towels :D

It seems strange outside in that it`s actually stopped raining, very very windy though and we are at the top of a hill so really feel it, i had to drag myself out to w*rk this morning as it was so horrible.

Lamewolf - Yes Dylan has managed to produce one :j

Jayward - So glad that you are feeling better today, just reading your post made me realise how much more upbeat you are, may things improve daily for you!

    Welcome Emmanelle!

I`m off to the kitchen to fight my way through the contents of the fridge, hope there is a bottle of wine in there :D

    Have a good evening folks.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Can I join the Philistine's Club - exoh's dad got so fed up with me diluting his expensive Telegraph Wine Club Offerings with lemonade that he used to present me with a bottle of blue nun every time we stepped over the threshold.

just got in from w*rk - it's horrid out there and my bike's playing up - it doesn't like the wet either. I've got the ingredeints for a Poor Man's Apple Pie so will see how that goes. I made honeycomb last night but something went wrong and it's now a gooey lava like lump stuck in the tray. dds are chiseling bits off with a spatula and reminding each other not to bite down too hard for fear of losing teeth or fillings - sigh - I certainly missed out on the domestic goddess gene
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008
