OS Daily Mon 10th Nov

Off to get the sitcky.............Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Mon 10th Nov. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning All

Havnt started the thread in ages. Earliest I have got up since the clocks went back - strangely my sleep patern has been out since then but I am now trying to get back into sync. I am having one of thoses - 'today is the beginning of the rest of my life' days.

In the office this morning, then this afternoon will be clearing the ironing pile and swishing the bathrooms. Will also thoroughly clean my bedroom. Bread needs to be made for the packed lunches I have bought all the Xmas pressies for my Inlaws so this afternoon I will dig out the wrapping paper - wrap them and put them safely away. I will then sort out what other pressies I have - at the moment they are spread all over the house.

Later on I will write a list detailing my weekly goals - I have been very lax recently.

So as you will see I am in a very motivated mood at the moment - hope it lasts

Anyway off now to wake up DD.

Have a great day.

Morning Essex girl and all to follow,

Along with most of the country, we have had a severe weather warning, high winds and rain, so I will not be going out other than for the school run.

I need a good tidy through bathroom and kitchen need a clean, and I need to make cookies and a cake. Not sure what to do for dinner, I might do the tacos which we did not have saturday, or I might do a minced beef and onion pie, which will be more warming.

Can't remember who said about the 70% sale on Amazon, but thanks :T I got my dd some converse all stars, which they are all wearing a the moment  , reduced to £20, and a bottle of perfume, reduced to £8, so thanks.

Any hoo hope all is well, have good days all xx

morning Essex-girl, Redruby and all who cross/follow

I'm in the bathroom queue as dds, who have normally left by now, are getting a lift with dd(23)'s bf so have treated themselves to a lie in.

Off to w*rk in a bit - I' m training someone so it's going to be dull - she's already had a week so I'm going to be shadowing. Tea tonight will be the rest of the rubber chicken - this to,me reincarnated as a ham and chicken pasta bake.

    have a good day all

Morning Essex girl et al, I was thinking you had not strated this thread in ages....
Anyway it's wet and horrible out there. MY garden is now almost all mud. The ducks like it anyway.
Work at 1, so I will loaf about and write a few letters and start to clean up my computer. There must be 6 yeasr of documents on here and useless programs. I need a real expert to sort out some issues too, but that may not happen. I have to wrote to Nationwide who tried to swindle me out of one month of discount tracker by not uploading my application in time. They owe me £38 and I want it. Mind you it has gone down by almost £100 since 30th Sept, so I am not hurting too bad, but it's the principle

Loafed about yesterday, had a great sunday lunch and then watched Top gear and Steven Fry in USA.
Well have a nice week. Soon be Christmas

    Morning Everyone.
Hope all is well. Off to the doctors this morning, then will go swimming I think. Hope the Remoska arrives today.
Had a viewing yesterday on the house, and they seemed right for the house, but not on the market  We shall see what they think.
Salmon steamed with soy, garlic and chilli with brown rice for supper tonight.
Fingers crossed I get some more viewings and a buyer this week. :A

Hugs to those that need it.
    Pawpurrs x ;)
  • Morning all,

very windy here last night, seems a bit quieter atm, but same warning here. Nice. Am out & about driving to Crowborough this afternoon so that will be fun.

EssexGirl, know what you mean about those sort of days - they're definitely quite motivating too!
Redruby, how horrible some little *&!?* thought they could go round damaging people's cars - and more than likely will get away with it :(
    N9eav, how's your chickens doing??

Placement Mon-Weds this week, but then 2 study days - however finished the essay last night, yippee!!! So that will be handed in over the next couple of days :)

Meatballs for supper tonight, I'm into rice again at the moment, so will do that for me & pasta for the girls. Other than that not much time for anything else OS & washing would end up 3 miles away I reckon, if it was put out...

(((((hugs))))) for all those needing them - have a good day all. Must dash!!

    Morning all!!

Been ages since I posted on the daily, but I've been sent to China and Hong Kong by work and only been back a little while:D In keeping with OS ways I didn't buy any clothes or electronics but instead stocked up on lunchboxes and flasks, including a lovely thermal number that will keep soup, rice and an extra bowl of goodies warm:money:

had a lovely OS weekend of cooking - bread, dhal soup for my lunches during the week. cabbage for side dishes etc. But I'm convinced MrS doesn't know the meaning of restraint - you should see what he was eating when I was away:mad:

Also the blimmin' car needed new shocks and a bunch of other stuff doing to it - so there goes our savings for this month. At least we are fortunate enough to be able to pay for it, but when I look at our savings target for this year and how much we've actually managed to save for one reason or another it makes me want to weep.

Had a lovely breakfast of stewed apple, raisins and cinnammon in my porridge this morning but lunch is going to be a very non-OS pub lunch as it's someone's birthday at work.

    Happy OSing everyone!

    morning all!

Lots of floodwater on the roads near here! DS2 is a bit scared about going to college as he was nearly stuck there last time the weather was bad. More heavy rain forcast.

if the roads are ok I will be visiting my friend this afternoon, this morning I am going cleaning for a 90 year old lady.

We are having cauliflower and leek cheese with salmon fishcakes, peas and mash for tea.

Got to get DS1 out of bed and on the job hunt too!

    Take care all x

edited to say have decided not to send DS2 to college, its only a half day anyway and not worth all the stress of last time when he almost got stuck there. DS1 still lounging in bed but have had words with him!

  • Good morning! A newbie here!

Weather is not good, so I will break all the rules and drive DS to nursery, plus I'm not feeling so good today.

My goal for today is to sort out the airing cupboard, find the cheapest bread tins I can online as I've found a really easy recipe for bread (Grant loaves) I want to try...really must save for a breadmaker! and to browse this site some more (all the above subject to 'approval' from 8 month old DD!)

Dinner tonight is Cheese, Chive & Tomato Omelettes and oven chips - I've only got 4 eggs left, but as I'm feeling the way I do, I'll duck out of dinner so this will suffice for DH, DS & DD.

    Good day to all.

Maybe I should start popping in here again. Taplady, your comment about weekly goals rang a bell, think I need to be a bit more focussed in the run up to Christmas really. I get more time here in the winter as I sit with my SAD lamp for an hour most mornings and have time to browse a bit more. Maybe some of that time I ought to spend planning things. It gives me such a lot of encouragement and ideas reading here! Thanks folks.

W*rk is disjointed today, an hour in a while and then an hour and a half later on. Part time in a college, so I have to do what they need. It b****rs up the day somewhat, which is why I need to be organised.

Got stuff at supermarket yesterday for cooking for the freezer. have started that, did a cassoulet. Still got chicken basque and bol to go. Bread to slice for back up stash and might freeeze a couple of s/w for ds pack up for emergency use.

Hope you are all well. Have a good day.
