I'm planning on growing some spuds in pots as well as straight in the ground this year... and I want to know how far from the bottom of the tub to put them in... is it the lower the better (not right at the bottom obviously... I'm thinking of sowing them 6 to 8 inches from the bottom iyswim) so as there's more room above them to earth up? I'm growing Anya variety if that makes any difference.TOP MONEYSAVING TIP
Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!0 -
So the potatoes I have now shoudn't be planted until April? Why are they in the shops now? I put my second earlies in in March last year and only got them cos there weren't any firsts left. I thought I had left it too late. I'm confused.Second purse £101/100

Bigdonut, it would be really helpful to know the size of the growing bags, does it say how many litres they contain?0

Hi again all you spud lovers.
Just found out from a friend that the 'East Anglian Potato Day' is being held this Saturday at Stonham Barns (just off the A140 in Mid-Suffolk). Google for details as I can't seem to add a reliable link!
If you want to try out new varieties or get advice, I'm told that it's a great event. No affiliation...
Already got my tatties on order so unfortunately I won't be there.
Happy hunting
