Thanks both! Maybe it's because I'm at home all the time I keep thinking I should have done lots more and not let it get into this state in the first place!
Children are 18 months, 6 and 9. The two big ones were good on Friday when I could hardly do anything but most of the time it's such hard work getting them to do anything! Smallest child is the one who seems to make the most mess at the moment by tottering around the house throwing anything she can get her hands on onto the floor
Not quite sure why I've hurt my back this time, had back pain for years since I had DD1, I think my core muscles are completely shot and I've put on weight.
It's just soooooooooooooooooooooo frustrating! Thanks for listening
I've said before on here. My house didn't resemble anything like tidy until DD (5) started school full time. And as for when the older three were little, not a chance in hell of a tidy house.
It will all start to fall into place eventually. Really it will. Just concentrate on getting yourself better.
As for getting the older two to help a bit. I find reverse phsycology helps!!;) (No idea how to spell that word:o But I'm sure you know what I mean)0 -

Michelle I agree totally with your sentiments regarding no stress over Christmas but toilet training then?????? I think it can turn into one of the biggest stress causers. Toilet training and chilling out in the same sentence don't usually go together. I know we tried with W on several occasions and gave up as there was no way he was going to use a potty or toilet even though we thought he was ready. He was 3 1/2 before he decided to use the toilet and had very few accidents and I was a lot happier with this than feeling I had forced him.
I don't want to rain on your parade and wish you all the luck in the world but please don't let it stress you if Charlie decides Christmas is not the time to comply. He is going to be so excited with Christmas and all that goes with it he may not be able to concentrate on the task in hand
I hope you read this in the way I mean it as I think you have done a great job with both boys so farOfficial Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -
gryfon - don't feel guilty asking for help. These things should be shared anyway and the bottom line at the moment is that you simply can't do it - and if you try then you'll have back problems for far longer. I've been doing a lot more around here recently as DH is studying, but I still make sure he does some, and have made it clear that this isn't how it's gonna be forever! Women so easily fall into that traditional role, partly because it's easier to do (in the short term) than nag for things to be done. But I for one refuse to be a slave!
soappie - love the fact you just sorted it! Can totally imagine you making the assistant run around the shop tooI grew up in a house with just my mum and sister so my experience is much more just getting on with it like that!
Had a nice lunch out with DH and resisted cake, nipped into woolies to look for xmas stuff (lego for godsons mainly) but it's only a small branch so they didn't have much. I'm off work thurs& fri as flexi leave so i can hopefully get the shopping sorted then, most of it will be done on amazon anyway. Then I got a couple of bits at sainsburys, which reminds me I need to phone Tesco and try and get a refund on the delivery charge as they were late on fri (has anyone tried this?!)
Am gonna have a go on Big brain academy on the wii (DH bought it for me after my bad journeys this week and as a bit of an apology for being grumpy) - i'd recommend it for anyone with a wii - lots of fun!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Well I've finally put a few things on ebay, vacuumed downstairs and sorted some washing.
Gryfon - I know exactly how you feel. I also suffer with my back and can't do as much as I used to. I feel guilty asking for help as well. Hugs to you.
Got a bit of ironing left to do but that will do for today0 -

Thank you! Feel a bit better now
At the moment I've put another load of washing on and I'm waiting for the sauce to cool a bit before I bag it to freeze. Just updating all of Mr G's shifts on my computer calendar as it changes in January.
Got rid of two children to my parents since last night, baby girl is asleep and Mr G has also gone to bed, he's working 10-7 tonight.Fluttering about an inch off the ground, I may fly properly one day and soar in the clouds!

glad you feel a bit better gryfon. Just remember you can only do as much (ideally less) than your body will let you. It's obviously not happy so take heed otherwise it's likely to get worse.
got distracted looking for lego, now gonna have a game on the wii before some xmas shopping online.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
