Ok I have a question...do you ever feel guilty about asking your other half for help? I know I shouldn't feel guilty as I'm struggling at the moment with this bad back but I do! I think it could be because he doesn't seem to think that things need doing so he'll only clear the surface for example when he's cooking.
So I feel bad when I ask him to do things as for things like watching the children, going shopping for me and doing various DIY jobs he's great! And now he's started back at work again. Maybe I'm just jealous that he can go to work and enjoy himself there whereas I'm stuck at home in a s**t heap
Any wise words for me? The doctor said to avoid housework but with three children and a big house that's fairly unacheiveable!
Gryfon - you have a bad back, that from reading some of your posts, is giving you some considerable pain. Sorry, but I appear to have missed why it's poorly in the first place:o
It is his house and they are his children too. If you need him to muck in a bit more than normal then you should not feel guilty at all.
It took Mr Tag quite some time to cotton on to the fact that if I am ill enough to do very little or nothing housework wise, then I really am ill or whatever else might me wrong. Migraine usually.
Sometimes they need telling quite bluntly that you can't to function at your normal pace. So extra help is required as and when necessary.
How old are your children?0 -

Done a few bits so far today - so bedroom list finished. Also done a load of washing and it's now drying. I WILL do HHC in the front room (which is also the messiest room in the house!) so that will clear Friday's list and a bit of Tuesday's. Also need to do at least an hour's planning for school but might do that in front of the tv later.

Thanks both! Maybe it's because I'm at home all the time I keep thinking I should have done lots more and not let it get into this state in the first place!
Children are 18 months, 6 and 9. The two big ones were good on Friday when I could hardly do anything but most of the time it's such hard work getting them to do anything! Smallest child is the one who seems to make the most mess at the moment by tottering around the house throwing anything she can get her hands on onto the floor
Not quite sure why I've hurt my back this time, had back pain for years since I had DD1, I think my core muscles are completely shot and I've put on weight.
It's just soooooooooooooooooooooo frustrating! Thanks for listeningFluttering about an inch off the ground, I may fly properly one day and soar in the clouds!

I must be the only one who sits up until early hours Christmas eve, well actually Christmas morning, wrapping stuff up :rotfl: I might try doing some a little earlier this year, I do think I might have some paper left, but I think it's in the loft with the decorations bag, so it'll need to wait until we get the tree anyway. I suppose if I have my proper list I can tick them off when they are wrapped.
No, me too - I've been known to be putting the last few under the tree as I heard DD & DS waking up, so rushed up to bed and jumped in fully dressed just before they came in - sat up with covers all round me, looked at the bits they had received in their stockings at the bottom of their beds (always put a couple of bits in there - keeps them quiet for a bit - sneaky eh!) before sending them back to bed for a min while I got sorted out... Was totally kn@ckered that day...:rotfl:

So I should have sussed it at some point in the New Year and then you can all see them:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Raining this afternoon so the washing is back in and draped round indoors.
Had a nice potter round two garden centres. Only bought a birthday card and a small christmas eve candle! Nice to get out though. Went to DD1's house on the way back to be "savaged" by her staffie. He's so sweet
Going to sit and watch a film next I think, it's such a miserable afternoon now.0 -
I nearly always do my wrapping Christmas Eve night. Usually get to bed between 1 and 2 am after Santa has been to the children
Doesn't feel right wrapping them earlier! Needs to be done in front of the fire with a mug of mulled wine or two and tacky Christmas songs on the telly
