Having said that I think the genealogists on here are Soappie and Dustykitten.
Thanks for the mention - I am very much the trainee who Soappie has taken under her wing and has given me more help than I could ever have hoped for - I still can't do most of it on my own:oThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Michelle, have you thought of taking lazy cat to a groomers, or if necessary the vets? I know a friend of mines kitty was a lazy oik and she sent him to get done, vet shaved some of it, amazingly he started doing himself. I have to do that with DS2s bed which is a wooden solid frame with one hole, obviously not enough. You've reminded me I wanted to get some more RIP fleas to keep the carpets treated here, after the argh moment when we moved in, thanks for the reminder (even if that wasn't why you mentioned it)
He's going to have to go to the vets as we have been trying for over 6 months to sort him - we keep cutting lumps of matted fur (basically also lumps of poo) out of his belly and leg fur. Not helped as he has his disabled leg, and his kidney problem.
He has been dragging his back legs along the floor, and has in recent weeks pee'd in the babys car seat and in my pantry, and everywhere he sits smells.
We only found the tick totally by fluke as i sat brushing him, and with the poo/wee issues, we are thinking we can't have him any longer. I went to talk to the vet receptionist last week about him, and she seemed to think it might be kinder to go for having him put down as he is just moping around all the time, seriously overweight, and the hygeine issues with the 2 boys. Although he is only 3, i can't see anyone rehoming him (which she also agreed because of 2 medical conditions).
Sad as it is, that is probably why i have been so upset this week, but my boys need to come first, and i daren't put Sam on the floor at the minute in case he picks anything up. Something has to change - i think even if we got on top of it he still wouldn't clean himself as his leg won't bend for him to do it, and he is too overweight to do it.So we will ask the vet what they think.
sorry for being maudling - i have to move on this if nothing else this week as my boy is growing quick and will be wanting to crawl about and i would never forgive myself if he got sick because of it.
Happier news - i have just booked my 4 night mini-break for January at Centre parks. We are taking MIL/FIL/BIL and girlfriend and that is there xmas pressie sorted, and i have something very nice to look forward too. I have my priorities sorted.0 -
Wow Kaz, you've done loads :T You should sleep well tonight!
johanne - that's good about the weight but do try and eat properly (says froddy who lost half a stone in a week during the summer by not eating cos of upset and stress) And well done on the sleeping bags - what a bargain

Hi everyone, thought I should introduce myself seeing as I've already joined the facebook group! I'm useless at forums, spend far too long making my posts and can never think of anything interesting to say anyway. So I hope you'll forgive me for only joining in occasionally to start with.:o
Thanks for motivating me so far, I've been flying for a few years with the US flylady but this thread is much much better. I don't have children and I'm not so busy as you all are, but I do a lot of gardening and cooking and bits of work here and there.
I'm off to bed now, hopefully will be back soon!0 -
I'm off to bed too - it'll be a long day tomorrow
