Here is the link also to the online claim form, which registered website users can follow;

One thing to note about the prepay Oyster is that the system doesn't have online statements at present, so it's impossible to know if you've been charged the correct amount - or to have receipts to hand if you need to claim back journeys for work etc.
However, if you use their contact number they will readily supply these and post them to you free of charge - a good plan to do this regularly if you want to keep a close eye on your bills.0 -
i am a bit confused!!!
is there a difference between pay as you go and pre-pay oyster? if so what is it?
my boyfriend lives in croydon, so i make regular journeys on the buses around there, and also into and out of london on a saturday. i usually buy a doscounted one day travelcar with my student railcard. however, i'm currently paying £1.50 a journey for the bus, which jis obviously way over what i could do with oyster!
i thought that pre-pay oyster did not work at east croydon ststion as its run by 'southern'.
could you help me understand as a non-london person!!!
thanks -

Pay as you go is the new name for pre-pay Oyster. I guess they wanted to use the same terminology as mobile phones. And if you really wanted to be pedantic about it, season tickets are technically pre-pay as you have to pay before you travel.rach wrote:i am a bit confused!!!

TfL have renamed 'Pre-Pay' as 'Pay as you Go' i.e. they are the same thing.
You are right, Southern don't accept Pre-Pay.
Oyster Pre-Pay is only valid on the following National Rail lines:
Amersham to Marylebone
Finsbury Park to King's Cross/Moorgate
Harrow & Wealdstone to Euston (but not at Kilburn High Road/South
Hampstead)
Kentish Town to Moorgate/Elephant & Castle/London Bridge
Liverpool Street to Walthamstow Central
Tottenham Hale/Seven Sisters (but not at intermediate stations)
Richmond to Gunnersbury
Stratford to Canning Town
Stratford to Liverpool Street
Upminster to Fenchurch Street/Liverpool Street via Barking (but not at
Forest Gate/Maryland)
West Ruislip/South Ruislip to Marylebone (but not at intermediate
stations)0 -
can I use an Oyster Card from Clapham Junction to anywhere, or only the Tube?
I often go into the city via Waterloo (overground, then take the tube form Waterloo into town)...0 -

Oyster pay as-you-go is only valid on the routes listed above.
An Oyster card loaded with a 7 day or more Travelcard is valid in all the zones that have been purchased and DOES includes the trains.0 -
Does anyone know whether you can use a PAYG Ostercard to 'buy' tickets for more than one person making the same journey? It says you can give it to a friend if you're not using it (not if you've got a season ticket on it), but not if more than one person can use it at once.
Only I rarely come to London, but am coming up with two colleagues in a couple of weeks, can't decide if it's worth getting an Oystercard for £3. It would be if we could all use it at the same time.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
No, you can't because of the way it works. You touch in at the start of your journey and touch out at the end of your journey. Until you've touched out it does not know what to charge you, so you can't have three journeys started but not finished at the same time, otherwise how would it know which of the journeys you were completing when touching out.0
