Are they still doing a family one day travel card? If so how much?2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

No. They have been withdrawn by TFL but I think Natioanl Rail stations will still sell them.
TFL now say, "Up to four under 16s travelling with an adult who has a valid Travelcard can buy Zones 1-6 Off-Peak Day Travelcards for just £1 each."

It is also worth saying that if you are (inevitably) delayed by London Underground for 15 minutes or more, you are entitled to claim for the full value of your single journey, which by the look of the Jan Price Rises could be £4 (Zone 1-6) even if you say buy an off-peak travelcard for £6.30.
Fill out the claim form booklet found in the foyers of London Underground stations, pop in you ticket and simply post it (FreePost).
If your claim is valid you will recieve LU travel vouchers for your delayed journey.
Ideal for the commuter who is delayed every day and also for a visitor to London as you can use them as part or full payment on any National Rail ticket into London with a tube ticket attached. They are transferable, so you can even give them to the likes of me if you don't choose to use them.sorry no links in signatures by site rules - Forum Team 20 -
Marc - according to the TFL website you can still buy family travelcards.
There is a noticable discount for adult tickets and only 80p flat fare for a child ticket (whether it is 1 zone or 6). Children travel free on weekends and on bank holidays.
Will check and find out more tomorrow.sorry no links in signatures by site rules - Forum Team 20 -

The following have been withdrawn:- Family Travelcard

- New Deal (Child rate) bus and tram single/return tickets and One Day Bus Passes
- Single zone Travelcard season tickets

Forgive me for pointing out a minor correction - but the peak time for Travelcards starts at 4:30am, and not 7am as you suggest. In other words, an off-peak travel card can't be used to travel before 7am on a weekday, even though tube singles are cheaper before 7am than after. One day peak Travelcards (Mon-Fri 07:00 to 09:29)
However, you are correct in saying that the tube and bus single fare higher rate starts at 7am - this is a change from 2005, when the tube higher rate started at 6:30am.
A travelcard is valid until 4:30am the day after it expires - and the daily oyster pre-pay cap is applied to all journeys made between 4:30am one day and 4:30am the next.
This means that night-owls who are planning to make a few journeys after midnight, both before and after 4:30am, may find that a one-day paper bus pass or travelcard is sometimes cheaper than using Oyster pre-pay.
But if you never travel between midnight and 4:30am, oyster pre-pay is always cheaper - and it's usually cheaper even if you do sometimes travel at night - especially if it's only on the way home from a night out which you've travelled to before midnight.
Overnight travel on new year's eve is usually free.
You also didn't mention bank holidays - on bank holidays, tube singles are at the lower rates all day, and off-peak travelcards are valid all day, in the same way as Saturdays and Sundays.
