Buyer takes 6 days to pay and wants goods before Xmas

I sold a pair of socks to a buyer on December 16
Today, six days after she has finally paid for them but has emailed me to say she wants them for a Christmas present.
She had six days to pay for them
I am at work so I can't send them until tomorrow and to be honest I doubt I'll have the time to do so.
She has also only paid for normal delivery but she did have the option to pay more for speical delivery.
What shall I do?
Third time lucky on WW I hope :j

They won't get them for Christmas now with normal post. If they want them for Xmas they need special delivery but today is the last posting date for that too.

Explain the situation. Tell her there is no way that posting an item on the 22nd December that it is going to arrive to her on time. Offer to post it with a specialist courier at cost price (which will be a FORTUNE) which she won't take up cos its not worth it for a pair of socks!

At the end of the day, you cant get them to her at normal delivery for Christmas.

I have just done so and very politely but I have a feeling she is going to be akward.
You know what they say -The longer they take to pay, the quicker they want the goods!!
    Shall keep you posted. :snow_grin

Let's face it, anyone who's still giving people socks as a Christmas present in this day and age is a bit suspect from the outset.

Or are they some very special socks?

Tell her that there is no way they will arrive in time for Christmas on normal post. It is unlikely that she will ask for Special Delivery because you are going to need to wait for her to pay the extra, then get it to the PO before 5pm today, which you say you can't do.

It is the buyer's fault. She should have paid quicker. The other option is to use a very expensive courier. But as mentioned previously, this would be extortionate and is unnecessary for a pair of socks. tigermatt :)

Actually, I'd be perfectly happy with socks. It's just that it's a bit of a cliche. Probably quite a sensible present for an adult :)
