No Refund From Seller As Promised

You can't track recorded UNTIL its been delivered. So while its journeying around the country you have no idea where it is. Track 'n Trace just states "This item has not yet been delivered", which is useful. He huihuinga taangata he pukenga whakaaro – A meeting of people; a wellspring of ideas (Maori proverb)0

Have looked on the Post Office website and I have to go into the PO and get a P58 (I think!) form to fill in and claim for lost packet upto £30, so will go in later on today and get one, will also go onto Paypal and file a claim. Thanks for all your help guys, will keep you posted.
I know I should've sent a copy of the receipt but I thought this lady was genuine but obviously I was wrong. Oh well, we all learn by our mistakes don't we??
The world would be a sad place to live with no chocolate!

Hang on a minute - isn't there a principle of innocent till proven guilty?
Consider this for a moment.
The item HAS been lost, or is taking an age due to Xmas.
Seller thinks that YOU don't actually have the broken part and are trying to pull the wool over their eyes.
When they asked for receipt they may have assumed you send it recorded.
They are not ignoring you and have been in constant contact.
I can't see a reason to assume they are the guilty party here.
If I've missed something then please feel free to explain it to me.0 -
The buyer should have sent the receipt recorded thus making sure there was little doubt that they had recieved it.
But hey we all are wise after the event.
But the other side of the coin is
They recieved the reciept and said that they hadnt so they didnt have to pay out for the repair.
Imho i would maybe go back to where you got it repaired and ask them if its at all possible for another receipt.

Yes I agree there are two sides.
But with the absence of any real proof either way, why assume the seller is at fault?
They have continued to communicate.
I presonally would give the seller the benefit of the doubt and blame royal mail.
However if it was an expensive item, then a good seller really would have just refunded the £9 by now.
As a buyer I would have offered to send digital pictures by email.0 -

Perhaps the buyer doesnt have a digital camera .
I still think they should try where they got it repaired to see if they can get a new receipt.
Also i wonder how the royal mail will work out the compen for a receipt.

Wot, no friends, relatives, colleagues, employers or neighbours have one either?
I thought they were ten a penny these days.
It was only a suggestion that could save a lot of grief.
Of course emails can get lost as well, but there's no cost in resending and you can get electronic receipts (in most email tools) for delivery and when the recipient reads it, so it can be quite helpful in these kind of situations.
Saves on the postage costs for heavy items as well, especially if the item has been put beyond use and the seller only wants proof of a problem.
I recently had a seller asking me to send broken glass back through the mail.
I couldn't believe it !!
I wan't prepared to endanger myself wrapping up broken glass let alone unsuspecting deivery people.0 -

I agree a digital pic would have been easier.
Maybe the buy does just that buys on ebay and has no need for a digicam or they wouldnt like to ask for a lend of one ( who knows )
Ive stopped selling glass as i hate wrapping it and theres always a chance it doesnt arrive in one piece. ( not due to my wrapping may i add but them careful ppl at the RM )
The last time i had a buyer say it arrived bust i asked them send me a pic ( refunded )and i made the claim at the PO.

Just for your info, the royal mail standard compaensation scheme does not cover glass or ceramics.
I found it on the website in their terms and conditions when the seller wanted to make a claim.
Unfortunately it's uninsured (with standard mail).0 -
Strange that lisyloo they paid out even though it was sent as a stndard parcel.
I know they dont normally but they did ..
