Does anyone remember the Observer Books? One of the planned subjects was famous stately homes. This project was cancelled because both the police and the Country Landowners Association reckoned that the book could be used by potential burglars to "case the joint".

As for the Google Street View, I don't think it poses a threat to anyone. You can already see lots of information about individual houses on Google Earth.

If my typing is pants or I seem partcuarly blunt, please excuse me, it physically hurts to type. :wall: If I seem a bit random and don't make a lot of sense, it may have something to do with the voice recognition software that I'm using!

I'd be worried about them getting a picture of the back of my house especially if I have washing on the line. Wouldn't want the whole world to see my manky undies!

It will make it easier as they can do it from the confort of there own homes, hundreds of streets at a time, rather than traveling across the country to do it

How? Do you imagine that burglars select their targets by looking at the fronts of properties? I doubt it. Most burglars will target properties in their own neighbourhoods as they will know the best escape routes and they will know the times when the property is empty. Otherwise, burglaries are opportunistic affairs, again very likely to be close to the burglar's own home.

Sorry, but I think there are more useful sources of information than GSV on the Internet which criminals can use.
