Thanks for the tip Hypno - I will definitely look at the 3 issues for £1 - If I can cancel after the initial 3 then thats great!
Well today has been a bad day DFW-wise - Firstly I logged onto online banking to find that somehow I have exceeded our overdraft limit by £2.60 incurring a £25 fee
Then when I get home from work there is a letter from Egg saying that the APR on my card has gone up from 16.9% to 21.9%
I know that people moan about Egg, but I honestly hadn't had any problems with them until now that is - No chance of shifting that debt either as there is just over £8k on there.
Looking on the positive side, Ive sold another book today on Green metropolis and lunch was a NSD as I took some of last night's left overs in to work for dinner. Tea was also pretty DFW as I used some stuff up that would have had to be chucked out if not used today.
Got a bit of a headache now, so Im off to bed, hoping for a much more positive day tomorrow on this roller coaster DFW journeyEmergency Savings Fund - £11002015 Mortgage overpayments = £0 -
Bit better day today, Many positive things to note
- Checked online banking again this morning & I didn't go overdrawn - so no fee !
- Good day in the shop, pleased with todays takings
- Sold something on Ebay 'Buy it Now' should make just over £20 after postage
- DFW tea tonight as OH is away so I am just having a jacket potatoe with tuna
- Going to list a few more things on ebay tonight and draw up some plans for now till Xmas and then for 2009
Hope everyone else has had a good dayEmergency Savings Fund - £11002015 Mortgage overpayments = £0 -
Quick, package up some of that positivity and pass it round!!

Believe me, I have my bad days and when they're bad they are really bad!
Any chance of you updating your sig yet Hypno - are you any closer to being under 40K?Emergency Savings Fund - £11002015 Mortgage overpayments = £0 -
No closer........I was intending being under £40k by the end of November, but because DS has been selected to ski, I have had to pay £950 towards his training costs that I was not expecting......
Ah well, it's only debt :rolleyes:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
You sound so positive MissO. Its a great feeling when you get a nice sale on ebay so good is makes the trudge of listing worthwhile...I must get onto it soon.
Keep up the good work :TWorking Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
Thank you WorkingHard - although I know what you mean about the trudge of listing - so many people procrastinate when it comes to e bay listing, myself included. I like to list on Thursdays though, I do it for 10 days and it runs through 2 weekends then - maximum exposure - Only managed to list one item today though!
Hypno - You're right - its only debt - there are worse situations to be in than to be in debt, your money is much better spent on the ski-ing!Emergency Savings Fund - £11002015 Mortgage overpayments = £0 -
Well, my Citicard now stands at £722.00 - Was £791.00 on Monday. I have just transferred £35 from my paypal account and £11.26 from my amazon sales, so I just need these to hit my account, before I can pay them off my Citicard. I can't wait to see that one gone and then I can work on the Mint which is also at about £800 - I like these nice small ones, they are much easier to work on!
I then have another at about £1000 but that is 0% so I think I will leave that one and concentrate on paying some off the Egg cardEmergency Savings Fund - £11002015 Mortgage overpayments = £0 -
I am looking forward to my sister coming to see us tomorrow, she will be arriving about tea time and going home on Sunday. None of my family know the extent of our debts, and I don't see my sister all that often so I am really looking forward to having a fun time (the DFW way of course) so the things I have planned are:-
- We are going bowling on saturday, I exchanged some clubcard vouchers for £40 worth of bowling vouchers so that will more or less be free
- Then we will be going to Frankie and benny's - I downloaded a voucher from this site for £5 off - it will still be expensive but every bit helps (could be cheaper if I could persuade OH not to have steak!)
- Bottle of Sis's favourite wine with £2 off (blossom hill rose - cost £3.49)
Is it awful to admit i am a little (OK a lot) jealous of my sis? - She is 6 years younger than me and earns a really good wage (about £32K) she is single with no dependants - I just think of how much I could save if I were her. For some reason I have never been able to earn a decent wage in any job, To say I left school really good qualifications, I now find myself at 34 years of age, qualified to do practically nothing
Just as well I work for myself. Emergency Savings Fund - £11002015 Mortgage overpayments = £0 -
I'll bet you anything (well, I would if I HAD anything) that your little sis is jealous of you in some way too.....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
