  • Got a mystery shop booked for tomorrow and must take some more pics so I can put some more stuff on ebay.
Just done my tesco shop online and went £3 over my £70 budget, but that did include the Indiana Jones DVD for DH and some sweets to put with some other christmas pressies. The DVD said it was £9 when you spend £30 on groceries, (should have been £14) but it looks on first glance like they have charged me £9 and then taken another £5 off the DVD making it £4. Will know for certain though when it comes tomorrow.
Didn't manage to find any other codes that work though  I can't remember the last time I did a Tesco shop and paid full price for it though!

  • They will move the cheapest but at least that makes the more expensive easier to get to with your repayments.

  • Thanks Payback time - I never looked at it like that! Although at moment I can't afford any more than the minimum repayment (£430 per month) and Martins Debt calculator said I would be dead before it is paid off - Over my dead body (literally!) :rotfl:

  • Where do start to look for codes for Tescos? I've heard them mentioned but wouldn't know where to start.

  • Look on the Discount Codes and Vouchers board, I think Tesco codes is the first thread on there. The trouble is with Tesco's that they haven't released any new codes for a week or two, for a while I was getting £13 off a £90 shop nearly every time I shopped - great if you can get it!

  • Had an enquiry on the answer machine today about someone wanting a 'winter let' from 4 Jan until end Feb - The holiday let is usually empty at this time of year so have offered it to her for £100 a week, she is going to bring me a £100 deposit next week, so that will help straight after christmas when we are especially skint!

  • That is fantastic. You must be delighted with that. That will be a good bit of money to pay off your debts!

  • Just paid off the remainder of my NEXT bill, next job is to put the 3 next directories in the recycling bin! - It feels good now that has gone, now I can concentrate on the next one, the Citicard which has an evil interest rate of about 27% - getting OH to cut it up will be an altogether harder task, it has a £13,500 limit on it, and I know he will want to keep it for 'emergencies' as there is little credit left on the other cards we have.

  • Had a bit of a DFW dilemma today - Tomorrow my Dad will be 65. On Wednesday my mum rang to invite me over for a meal at a nearby (to them) restaurant. We wouldn't be able to stay over as we would have to be back early Saturday morning to open the shop, so it would literally mean driving 100 miles there, having the meal and perhaps a coffee at mum and dads afterwards and then driving 100 miles back again. Initially I said no, thinking of the cost of the fuel, not to mention the meal, but I rang her today and said we would come after all. It may not be DFW and I don't have the money to do it this week, but I am really glad I changed my mind - It will mean a lot to my Dad and after all you are not 65 every day - what would you guys have done?

  • Well, feeling a bit tired today, we went out for our meal last night and it was lovely - mum and dad paid too which was even better (although we did offer to pay for ours and we genuinely meant it). Business is really slow at the moment, and it doesn't help morale when you hear about how many small businesses are going bust every week. I am convinced that it is mostly press driven, people keep hearing about this recession and panic, decide to save instead of spend (whether they need to or not) and because people aren't spending, small businesses suffer.
Sorry for the whinge, but its very hard not to worry.
On a positive note, I got £11.50 of clubcard vouchers today, so I have swapped £10 of them for £40 worth of bowling vouchers, means we can treat the kids to a nice day out and it won't cost anything
