http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html Free AntiVirus
http://www.sunbelt-software.com/Kerio.cfm Free Firewall
And just for the record I have never had a problem with AVG I think it
does quite a capable job for a freebie.
Make sure you download the new software then disconnect from net then remove
old norton then restart PC then install both programs mentioned then check for any updates.
What version of Norton do you have, it will be easier to remove
if you post the version here...........0 -

When I used a PC (I'm now switched to a mac) I always used PC-cillin. Not free - currently 38 quid for the full package (usually around 19/20 quid a year thereafter for upgrades) but I found it the best. YMMV!
GWot, no sig?0 -

I'll add another recommendation for Avast. I have installed it on dozens of PC's for people.
You need to register it once a year to keep it active, but this is a simple process, and they mail the key back straight away, and is completely free for home use. There are very frequent virus signature updates, all done automatically.
It scans emails/p2p etc as well as local file access and web browsing activities.0 -
Just a quickie - where do you get AVG?
TIAEx board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -

has anyone ever used "e scan "
I have a disc for e scan 2003 .
The story is my old pc crashed the same day I bought this one .
I got a guy to fix it and he removed my norton and installed e scan .
Turned out the pc had been overheating and I had to get another guy to fix it properly .
I still have the disc but I never used e scan .0
