Geez! I can't believe how many of you have water softners. I've just been looking at prices, and they cost hundreds of pounds. I 'must' be poor!

Hope that helps someone0 -
Try Googling "softener salt" for lots of alternatives?
Water softener salt is used very heavily in the Commercial Market in tablet, block, or granular options, but if you use a Commercial Supplier it may be cheaper but will have to be in bulk!Signature removed0 -

Apparently very few Wickes stores sell softener salt. When I tried my local branch, Barking, they told me they did not. I mentioned that I had heard from the MoneySavingExpert forum that they did. The manager was called and he said they did in fact have a pallet of salt which had been sent to them in error and which he was about to return! So I bought two bags. When I mentioned MoneySavingExpert he said he would put some bags on the shelves to test the demand. Such is the power of this forum! So if you live in the East London/Essex area please get down to Wickes Barking and create some demand. The product code is 221263.0
