I have a price notebook too but I only list a few items such as Lynx toiletries cos OH really likes this brand. Lynx stuff is usually on offer once in a while at every supermarket, although I've found Wilkinson to be the most consistent. I also date when I saw the offer to compare properly.
Has anyone else found that some offers come around again and again? My local COOP has had a Nouvelle toilet rolls (trying to stick to my green principles) buy one get one free every couple of months and the price hasn't changed for a few years. I buy them up and sometimes I have enough to last me until the next offer. I also check washing powder and cat food which can be stored easily. Had a fantastic bargain on Crest toothpaste at Wilkinson a while back 50p a tube which I bought up loads and am still using.

Mrs Boo Boo, I read on here that Lynx is called Axe in (I think) Poundshops. There's an entry on Wikipedia.
  • Ooooooooo think I might give this a go. It's a really good idea. Especially for veg as I like to shop around and can never rememer prices.

Its not really a price thing but can I suggest that you note the size of your windows & the curtain sizes they take - I've often spotted real bargains on curtains & nets but usually when I dont have these measurements to hand Doh! I note them in my diary now :p
I THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I Know

Here in Crawley we have either very few or no independent shops. We have a Tescos, a Sainsburys and an Asda. To get to a Lidl or Waitrose we have to go to a nearby town.

This makes it easier and cheaper to shop at one of the big three. I also do my shopping by internet.

We've had loads of upheavals over the past 2 months, so my OS shopping has gone a bit awry. However, when we are on a more even keel my shopping bill doesn't vary much.

    So, I don't have a price book! :o

I'm going to start this today. I'm going to compare my local Tesco with my local Indian shop for rice and coconut milk and things. Thank you.
Getting there... A deal at a time. :T
