    Curiouser:

MFI are no longer "MFI Retail Ltd", but:

    MFI GROUP LIMITED

    Registered office:
    333 THE HYDE, EDGWARE ROAD
    LONDON
    UNITED KINGDOM
    NW9 6TD

This changeover seems to have taken place on 6/10/08.

Whatever, warn anyone who is about to shop there that things may be about to come to a head according to the Guardian online:
Furniture and kitchens specialist MFI is expected to collapse into administration within hours

Agreed. That's who apparently owns the website (although the terms talk about MFI Retail being the cotnracting party.

Just to add more confusion, MFI Group is "NON TRADING".

    Status: Active
    Date of Incorporation: 21/04/2006

    Country of Origin: United Kingdom
    Company Type: Private Limited Company
    Nature of Business (SIC(03)):
    7499 - Non-trading company

Parts of MFI were taken over by a buy out in October these are the parts that continued trading. However it would now look like they owe quite a lot in rent and the landlords have decided that enough is enough and it seems like the parts of MFI that continued trading will be in administration in a very short time if not already unless a agreement can be worked out

I think they have no chance. Sounds as though the bits that continued trading couldn't even be bothered to tell Companies House that it was a trading company.

Wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

Further to previous comments MFI will actually go into administration this afternoon

MCR will be the administrators in a probably vain hope to try and sell the company

    Another 3000 jobs gone !

My MIL has just paid them £1200 deposit for a kitchen thankfully she paid by cc. If she pulls out now she looses the deposit and has to pay the remainder before fitting in Jan 09

I would suggest she waits just a while until they are fully in administration.

dont know if this is any use to anyone

have £71 outstanding on an order from aug 2007 which i paid with tesco vouchers for a bathroom

just went in after speaking to mark two the deliveries for their bathrooms dept

the staff in altrincham store are saying they have been told business as usual!!

they changed bathroom suppliers 2 weeks ago due to a fall out ( deliveries apparantly)

i need to chase up order with them
mark two telling me and everyone else to get a refund from mfi due to not being able to supply goods within a reasonable time space use this as your refund reason

i was told only manager could deal with refunds and he was in a meeting i said i would wait suddelnly the meeting had finished LIE

i was told that they couldnt access systems but they found out pretty quick i had paid with clubcard deal vouchers so another LIE

Told they are not aware of anything other than business as usual another LIE

Told that they will no more by saturday whats happening on saturday I dont know

all im trying to say is they are telling some big fat stinking fibs so do what you can to get a refund asap
