    Listen Confuuuused,

However, I don't believe YOU own anything. There are no houses on Rughtmove in your area at the price you claim you have it on the market for!

Not all houses on the market are on the Rightmove site. In recent times some estate agents have pulled out of that site to try and save some money. Further your search to fish4homes and globrix. Also take some time to look at estate angels to look at individual agents. And then there are those websites where individuals can market their own properties like Houseladder etc.

(Confused - that should keep her busy for a while and give you a rest;) )

YOU'RE suggesting that anyone who opens their front door to pick up a pint of milk, or go and water some plants in the front garden - whilst still being ON the property - are being negligent!!

    You're crazy!!

There's always cases of people being robbed whilst actually being in the house but having left windows or doors unlocked.
Whether it voids your insurance is up for question - but insurance companies like to not pay out so they will jump on anything they can.

I think you'll find that estate agents try to get the maximum coverage possible and except for a tiny minority of sellers who want to market their own property, nearly every property for sale is on Rightmove. PropertyBee would show it, especially as he's supposedly dropped the price from £170,000 to £140.000 and it's been on the market for a year. Where is the link, Confused? I've browed myself and I can't find one of your description.

    Are you making it up?

Chelmsley wood is a massive area, anyone who knows the place knows theres other areas within it like kingshurst, smiths wood, kitts green, castle bromwich to name a few.

Ive never posted a link to my property as i dont want to be ridiculed by people about how bad my house looks, but thats my problem and my problem alone.

Why dont you put a right move link up of your house? with your husband in bed and a log in the toilet im sure we all want to see that.:p

or are you making that up????

  • At a quick glance .... i am wondering how this thread has gone from me being robbed whilst at work to talking about logs in bogs ? Its all gone way off track.
Just to put a couple of things right also : I did wedge the door closed by having the yale lock locked but in the open position. ie sticking out and a hand brush underneath the door. I also placed a tin behind it, however this did not stop the person from getting in as they must of forced it. I am a workman at the end of the day and i did my best to ensure the property was secure whist working as i always do.
However if somebody wants to get in then 9 times of out 10 they will do so.

suggestion for future would be to attach a 'bell' so if the door is used it will jingle alerting you etf.

To be honest you just dont know who your neighbours are whether they are council tenants or home owners.

But if you buy an house where there are council houses you will most definately have a better chance off having nuisance neighbours.

I live in chlemsley wood, which is the biggest council esate in the uk, there are good tenants and bad tenants, but you do get the scum of the earth on our estate, bit i think its like it with all council estates as there is no where else for them, and if they are housed that is where they will be put.

So really speaking she is right in what she is saying that you have a better chance of having good neighbours if you avoid council estates.

Im not saying you dont get nuisance neighbours in bought housing, but people who buy there houses and go out and earn momey working our less likely to be aresholes.

Theres a lot of smack heads on our estate, and they wait for the people who have mortgages, who go out to earn their money and while there gone, they rob there houses.

Most of them are on benefits, to be honest they should be out in hostels.

Your problem is that this is not a 'legal' forum. If you have access to newsgroups, post your query on uk.legal.moderated, where some of the posters are lawyers and most of the rest are pretty knowledgeable.

Like I said before, I think you are in the clear from a legal point of view. Your client may not be very happy, nevertheless.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
