Hi
just read that you signed up with Virgin Broadband today. Me too. I've been with Virgin for 2 years on the 24/7 package, costing £12.49 per month but wanted more speed. After researching tons of 'bargain Broadband' sites, I ended up 'swapping packages' with my own ISP. I opted for the Broadband 3 package which is on offer for 12 months for £12.49 so am paying no more than before!!! This is a saving of £2.50 on their normal monthly fee. It gives 512kbps with a limit of 3G per month (plenty enough for my needs!), free activation and modem and no 12 month contract. (If you want to cancel after activation, however, they will charge you £50.) I think this may only be an offer for existing Virgin.net customers though. Having said that, I've been happy with Virgin, especially their excellent Tech help.
Once I'm up and running, I'll post another message to say how it's going.
Happy Christmas to anyone reading this!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
I've tried them about 6 months ago while they were doing a free modem/activation and no cancellation fees offer. Never had any problems with speed or connection issues, so I would recommend them. Only problem is they tend to keep charging you after you have cancelled or migrated. So if you don't intend to migrate or cancel, and you have enough technical knowledge, then I would definitely recommend.0

Thanks for the info about your experience with Virgin. I'll bear the 'they tend to keep charging' once you've migrated in mind.0

I've been with Virgin since 1998. Initially I was PAYG and then was on the trials for 24/7 which started off at £15. I switched to broadband two years ago when I moved as my previous address could not at that time have broadband. I've had no problems whatsoever.0

Would recommend them, join thru a cashback site or use ur Egg credit card and get 30 pound.

Been with them since July/August and no problems once it was activated. Signed up my mum and dad with them a couple of months ago and again no problems.0

I have also been with Virgin on PAYG - 24/7 and I am looking at option 3 Broadband after xmas.
If you need it they have one the cheapest help prices at 25p per min many others still charge 50p per min or £1 pm, of course you can get some cheaper or free even but you will pay a hi price for the actual service.
I have always been happy with them.
Only called support once or twice and all was sorted out perfectly."Don't panic just chill out and smile"

Back again to update on new Virgin Broadband 3 option. It took 5 mins to get set up on 30th Dec and have had no problems at all. So far, so good.........For me, it's the bargain of the year at only £12.49 per month.0
