On a serious note.
The issue I had was with the inappropriate use of smileys.
I appreciatte that nobody knows whats round the corner financially.
I do have sympathy with some people that have to go bankrupt. Sensible no nonsense business owners for example.
I do not have sympathy for people that have lived beyond their means. That includes people that have borrowed too much to by a property.
As is all to common on these threads little or no consideration is given to the creditors. Be they an individual or a multinational company they have bills to pay and families to provide for. Think of them for a change and you might understand why I, and others, don't think it's at all:j :T .
Of down the pub now, gonna ask for a tab.....might even pay it back:beer:0 -

I don't think I can be bothered to respond to that. Please see posts above by finito and peachyprice for reasons why we are perfectly entitled to use whatever smilies we want, without needing to ask your pemission.
Please also read the very first post on this board by Martin - DFW's for support not judgement.
You are entitled to your opinion, but please be considerate of the sometimes very desperate people on here who don't fit into your idea of what is an 'acceptable' bankrupt. I still think you're a wally.0 -
Whilst your circumstance might be difficult there is nothing :j or :T about going bankrupt.
Others will have to pick up the tab and in the case of the Northern Rock it's the taxpayer who has every right to be  .
Sorry I forgot:D .
WE HAVE BEEN PICKING THE TAB UP FOR THE IRAQ WAR FOR YEARS...
I am not in debt but i applaud anyone who has the strength and courage to regain control of their life again....don't be judgmental because you never ever know whats around the corner......think how much corruption cost us a year?It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -

bang on shame lenders havent got your common sense.
I gave up fighting the creds after a 3 year battle they didnt achieve 1 ccj against me and if i hadnt been struck down with an illness i would have beaten them at a trial by the looks of things .life is to short and banks are not worth the stress and heart ache they cause.I find its easy for the prima donnas out ther to take the moral high ground but what goes around comes around ie, earning 30k one year next year surprise surprise 13k:D 4 months off sick this never gets taken into consideration and the creds should be made to remove the b - - - t slogan .CONTACT US AS SOO AS YOU ARE IN TROUBLE. You do not seem to see the point of bankruptcy ...it is a legal instrument put in place for people who are at the end of there tether ,and can no longer cope financially .
.People can get to that point through many avenues ...late payments for services by large companies ..sole owner employer of a company who becomes ill. and personal retrenchment ,is just some of the reasons people need the protection of bankruptcy
It really is a last resort and is in agreement with a judge who actually does read and agrees or disagrees to the legal instrument your proposing .
When large corporations are charging up to 29.9 percent on so called high risk credit ..(even though they can now apply charging orders to assets to mitigate there exposure) is it hardly surprising people get into trouble.
Bankruptcy brings protection from aggressive corporations who will use any maneuver to get back there money ..They seem unwilling to accept that to be in banking itself is at times a risk and bleat and moan when things go wrong and expect a bail out from the taxpayers when THEY screw up and remember just because people go bankrupt they still pay tax !!!!.
I am thankful for the bankruptcy laws of this country, for it gives people a chance of a new life and light at the end of a often traumatic and dark tunnel ,
I have no guilt for using them and rest assured the companies involved lost no money, i had more than repaid my debts in the previous 30 years I was a valued customer paying high interests rates on time and with no quibble .
Sorry if this is slightly off topic but i felt the comments warranted response0 -

Your post has made me rethink my perspective on multinational companies. I'd never taken the time to consider their families and children. I wonder what the child of a global corporation looks like... I bet they're right cute little devils, bless 'em. Hope my spelling's good enough for ya.

Hmmmmmm........ a definition of charity perhaps?
You are correct in your assumption that I am not a bankrupt and have no experience of the 'heartache':j . Perhaps I should try the 'desperation' :T of going bankrupt, seems like fun to walk away from your financial obligations .
Then when you see somebody paying off a credit card bill in the bank you can have a sly little:D to yourself.
Do you know what Neil I don't think you have any right to judge anyone on this board, I too have (fortunately) never been bankrupt or been in such dire straits with my finances (yes I agree we have a lot of unsecured debt which we are paying off but we are lucky we both earn enough to pay them off)
But can you honestly say that these people on here are enjoying going through this? I am sorry but to be faced with losing your home is devastating and I don't for a minute believe anyone in this position revels in the thought their debts are being wiped out, its a hell of a price to pay and most people facing bankruptcy have been fighting for months if not years to keep their heads above water, you can't honestly expect anyone to live like that forever can you?
If you think BR is as simple as just walking away from your financial obligations then I am sorry but you are completely uneducated and I hope you never find yourself in this situation and coming on here asking for advice yourself, as I am sure most of the lovely people on this board will then be having the last laughAug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00 -
People seem to think it's "an easy way out", you only have to read the threads on here to see it isn't. My parents have advised me and my OH to go BR, and after reading on here I'm more frightened of the B word than ever.:heart2:Baby boy due 4th March 2011:heart2:0
