Whilst your circumstance might be difficult there is nothing :j or :T about going bankrupt.
Others will have to pick up the tab and in the case of the Northern Rock it's the taxpayer who has every right to be  .
Sorry I forgot:D .0 -
Well Neillgb,
It's good to see that your comments are based on your own personal experience of the circumstances, desperation, and heartache, one goes through and that finally lead an individual to take a very difficult decision.
This is not a competition on who has been most responsible and contributed most to our society as a whole. Not one of us knows how much any individual has or has not contributed to society, apart from ourselves. There are many "tabs" in life, not just financial ones. We've all picked up the "tab" at some point. That's what humankind does; - We look out for those more worse off than ourselves, and we give what we can in time, love, friendship and money.:DDebt free by 2025?0 -
Hi
My OH was the one going BK so I answered the phone all the time because they weren't allowed to discuss his finances with me. It did get annoying but they couldn't give me grief.
Its worth a try

As said the fun has just begun and the calls have started already with no relent, i have not yet answered or made contact. Should i ? I mean what do i say? I feel i want the next month or so to save for rental payments etc so i am looking for time on my side. Should i make contact with them sooner rather than later?
I didn't make contact with any of my creditors untill they contacted me. I did tell one who had been resonable that I was going to go bankrupt they excepted that and stoped phoning for a while then called again yesterday I gave them my court date but they still said they will call me in a few weeks as its over a month to my court date still (Liverpools courts are a bit busy it seems) . Even they have put pressure on to make token payments I just tell them that I have no money to pay as all my money is going towards paying the fees which isn't stricktly true as I've now got the fees. I think answering the phone and telling them you are seeking advice and will contact them soon is possibly the best idea."You are entitled to your own opinions but not your own facts" - Arthur Schlesinger

Hmmmmmm........ a definition of charity perhaps?
You are correct in your assumption that I am not a bankrupt and have no experience of the 'heartache':j . Perhaps I should try the 'desperation' :T of going bankrupt, seems like fun to walk away from your financial obligations .
Then when you see somebody paying off a credit card bill in the bank you can have a sly little:D to yourself.0 -
The :j and the :T is the relief knowing there is a release from the 'heartache' and 'desperation'
It is NOT fun to walk away from your financial obligation,s but it is a relief considering the alternative, that is being herassed dozens of times a day for a bigger payment that you just have not got
Then when you see somebody paying off a credit card bill in the bank you can have a sly little to yourself.
Now your just being childish:rolleyes:Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all ………….

Neil, you seem to think charity is a bad thing??? Won't be asking you for any Children in Need donations, then.
You don't seem to get it, do you, which is really not surprising seeing as you haven't been through the hell that comes before BR. Congratulations! You're obviously far more sensible with money than us low lifes. Why are you even here? Go and join a self-congratulation thread.
Yes, I've had a f***ing bad day.0 -

Or to some it's an alternative to suicide.
Makes you feel big does is, assuming that every BR is doing it for the fun of it. Tell you what come here on the days when we have members so desparate the pill bottle is there open next to the PC.
Until you have sat and actually read the life shattering experiences some members have had please don't tar every BR with the same brush.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

Hello bloke,
I am pleased you have no experience of bankruptcy.
I do however, but guess what. No more heartache, no more stress, no more problems.:j
Life is soooooooo good now!!!!!:D
Hope the s**t never hits the fan for you, but if it does, remember, there is a big bright light at the end of the tunnel. It's called bankruptcy, and it gives folk their lives back!!:A
I hope you have a nice Christmas!:D :j :beer:0 -
