Oooooo curb instead of kerb, how many times is that posted wrongly on pepipoo by new posters? Makes me want to scream!
:eek:PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Maybe being a luddite and not just accepting change makes us want to question whether a Fine is a Fine and if the councils are wrong.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Ok need help! Was having a night out with friends and I was the designated driver, drove to a nearby town and parked car in nearest car park where lots of people were parked and where I had parked previously but had no trouble. That was last tuesday, now(thursday 9 days after) I recieve a "Civil parking charge notice" from "Athena ANPR ltd registered in England: 05678510" It states that I overstayed my welcome at a Lidl car park, and instead of their limit of 1hour 30 mins, I was there 1 Hour 48 mins...Although it states I got there at 00.41 and left at 2.30am. It was pitch black and I saw no signs whatsoever to mention about the limit!
I just want advice on whether to Ignore or to write to appeal or what?! My dad is registered owner, I am named driver, it was sent to him! Help!0 -
Ignore it. Inform your father.0

I was issued with what was termed a PCN in Somerfield customer car park in Poplar, London, in March. I don't know to this day what the parking attendant was playing at, but the ticket stated I had overstayed my free time. The rules are, free parking for two hours, and no return within three hours.
I had parked for one hour and fifty minutes in the morning, left the car park, and returned after three hours and ten minutes. My return was at 3pm. I returned to my car at 3.50pm, and found a ticket issued at 3pm for overstaying, £60 it was demanding. The attendant was nowhere to be seen, (lucky for him, because I was p***ed!).
I never had any intention of paying this ticket, because I wasn't going to have my pocket picked. I had broken no rules. Anyway, I received 2 demands from the parking company which I didn't reply to, simply because I had more pressing things to deal with. Then I received 2 demands from debt collectors. I phoned these people, who advised me to send a dispute letter to Town and Country with a copy to them. I did this, and within 4 days Town and Country had sent me a letter advising that they had noted the points I had made and would cancel the ticket. Just like that, no hassle, no arguments, no threats.
Just thought I would post to mention that I am happy with their treatment of me.
Definitely not a cowboy outfit.
{It's Town and City Parking Ltd, not Town and Country}.0 -
They are a cowboy outfit - they gave you a ticket in the first place!0

Town and city are well known cowboys, plenty of threads about them here and on Pepipoo and CAG.
You say the "debt collectors" advised you to appeal, and T&C accepted it?
I smell troll!0 -

Take your point, but strictly speaking, the blame for wrongly issuing the ticket lies with the individual attendant.
Town and City sorted it out to my satisfaction, thought it only fair to say so.
One thing though, they should refund the postage I paid to write to them, which of course they haven't done, as the ticket shouldn't have been issued in the first place.0 -

That's not nice. I found this site after the debt collectors started writing, from what I read I was not expecting things to be so easily dealt with. I'm telling you what my experience was, that's all, don't try and insinuate I'm a liar.0
