How can an employee get 'revenge' on a customer via this forum
I think psychologists call it 'transference'. You are angry at one person but you can't vent at them so you have a go at someone else who may (or often may not) deserve your anger.
The posts on here which most vociferously attack the OP are usually from people who claim to work/or to have worked in a customer facing job. They probably didn't / don't enjoy it much and so they try to get their own back by belittleing someone's complaint or trying to make them look stupid or greedy or whatever.
Usually it backfires on them though and once they've done the same thing once or twice to totally diiferent OPs then everyone can see them for exactly what they are and their attacks lose power.

Its not all like that however, some posters put the other side of the arguement across, if we all agreed things on this board would be very one sided.
For instance if we all agreed with the OP then the staff member from Next would of been sacked. Whilst I don't agree with the actions of the staff member Next have replied with their resolution, if the OP is not happy then they can vote with their feet and not shop there again.
I don't think the employee should have used that language, however I don't think they should be sacked for doing so.
I don't work in retail, and I never have, but I can see both sides.0 -

.
The OP wanted an apology, that was all, she stated that they wouldn't shop there again in post no.1;)
It was posts made by others that suggested that she wanted the staff member sacked, not the OP.0 -

But the OP did not want that staff member working in the same department, and they told her the swearing was an act of gross misconduct but did not apologise?
I find that hard to believe.
They have assured me it has been dealt with but that staff member is still in the same department. I am furious.
They could have apologised at the time, instead they looked at me & then walked away. I complained on the way out & I was told this was gross misconduct.
I just feel I`ve been fobbed off
The OP states she won't go back, how does she know the staff member is still working in the same department?0
