AIn my view the OP was disappointed, complained, and has moved on. Why the criticism?

But she hasn't though, has she?! She's still "fuming"

I don't really know what more she expects; she made a complaint, the store investigated her complaint, the 'culprit' was reprimanded, they advised her of that fact and assured her it wouldn't happen again. Job done.

Let it go now .... life's too short:rolleyes:

    Get Tozer to sue them..

It's funny, after your outrageous post of
"If she wants her kid to look up to shop staff she has no aspirations for her kid!!"

which to me is just a bit snobby and condescending, you have no answer to the criticism other than to plumb new depths with unfunny and massively unconstructive comments.

What would OP sue for anyway?

She was fuming in Post 1. Post 12:

"I am sorry to have vented & I am sorry if I have upset anyone, I will leave it there.

    Goodnight."

The title of the post was "Fuming at Next" and I was referring to her initial post. Her comment "I will leave it there", I believe, relates to the thread itself.

I am not having a go at her; I think it is unacceptable to witness bad language from anyone in a shop (or anywhere else for that matter).

I can understand where the OP is coming from. It would have been appropriate for the person concerned to have apologised instantly. I think the OP is happy that the matter was dealt with swiftly but an apology would have been the desire result at the time.

I think she was misled by the person who told her it was gross misconduct when she mentioned it on leaving the shop - that is usually dealt with by dismissal so he OP thought that an apology to her would be in order if it was considered to be so serious.

Presumably having a word with the member of staff, like a verbal warning is adequate

I complained on the way out & I was told this was gross misconduct..

Nice one, very likely she will be getting the sack as its gross misconduct.

Im sure her family and kids will be grateful, we all swear at times its was probably a mistake

This is a bit harsh! You shouldn't not complain about someone incase they get the sack for it, it's not the OP fault it's the member of staffs fault!

    (sorry for double negative lol)

but we dont know the context to what is was spoken, im sure we have all swore without realising as a honest mistake, the person who works for Next could have her life ruinied because of it and never get a job again if its gross misconduct

Going by the OP's post "They have assured me it has been dealt with but that staff member is still in the same department. I am furious.
    "
seems like the OP expects them to be sacked as they are still there

Theres a simple answer to that, if you dont want the sack due to Gross misconduct, conduct yourself in the appropriate manner. She gets no sympathy for her own conduct. I dont swear at work with my bosses, moreso by mistake, Im less likely to swear at customers (even if I wanted to), because I know its a sackable offence. AND because I know its not a professional way to conduct yourself. Good manners cost nothing, but reap their own rewards.
