Open with £5,000 and add whenever you want. Four withdrawls during the year allowed.

  • I received my confirmation today for fixed 6.6%. I had posted application on 7th November and deposit was invested 18th.

I asked about further deposits and they will accept cheques until Saturday 29th. They have caught up with backlog now and suggest money be ready for transfer week beginning December 1st. No more specific than that.

Are expected interest rate cuts likely to be priced into current fixed rate deals?

  • i got confirmation yesterday that my access reward account with birmingham midshires is now open and that my initial deposit of £1000 has been cashed. i believe i sent my application on the 10th of nov. im a bit annoyed with them because i did send another cheque, this time of £5000 on the 14th nov and the money is still sitting in my current account. i don't think i know what to do if they have no receipt of the £5000 cheque...i'll call them tomorrow and find out. if they can't find it, i'll give then another week, if still not cleared by then im gonna close the account and move elsewhere. this is bad service!

This is seemly commonplace with BMid and HBOS. I'll be investing with someone else even if the interest rate is slightly lower. All these delays mean you're losing alot of interest
