Help! Neighbour trying to steal my cat!!

I have just re read my post and I don't mean to be nasty, but pedigree cats are expensive and some people view them as a status symbol ( hence they are vulnerable to being stolen) - I know this only too well as I go through hours of anguish trying to work out if my mollycoddled much loved kittens are going to good homes - you hear some awful things - even breeders putting cats down for nipping them.0

The woman who continued to feed and let him into her home was really out of order , especially with flea treating him. I really don't think she genuinely thought he was a stray - he's a pedigree siamese, not a moggie! I'd write her a letter saying what the vet said, and again asking politely but firmly that she must stop feeding him because it isn't good for the cat. After all, it could be eating breakfast at yours, going to neighbour for brunch, home for supper and out again for dinner, and be getting rather fat in the process, or she could be feeding foods that aren't suitable for him - How would she know?! You are his owner and the responsibility for his welfare is down to you not her, therefore you are well within your rights to tell her you need complete control over his diet.
If you let him out again and he goes missing of an evening I'd be knocking on her door every night - and failing that on all her neighbour's doors too to ask have they seen him. You have tried the nicey nicey way with this woman and it hasn't worked - maybe the shame of her neighbours being well aware of what is happening or a strongly worded letter might be what it takes to make her realise her behaviour is completely unnacceptable.0 -
I was saying that a cat wouldn't wander off seeking food from elsewhere if they were fed before being let out. A cat won't take food from a stranger for food if it was not hungry, I know mine wouldn't. My oldest Bengal will not allow anyone to pick him up other then who he knows in the home.
Unfortunately I think yours is the exception to the rule there. One of my moggies is a scaredy cat and wouldn't let someone else pick her up but would eat whatever they gave her, and the other has regularly invited herself into neighbours' homes, cars, even a removals van once  without a second thought. Luckily we have nice neighbours who either don't mind and don't feed her, or simply don't let her in in the first place.

I'm glad it's not just one of mine that thinks that her breakfast is what she eats if nobody has anything better on offer0 -

Ted would hide around a corner & leap out & attack (just messing, he didn't dig his claws in much:o  ). God knows what those breeders would have made of him! & he was a docile (as they are susposed to be) persian. He was loving & affectionate, but now & again he liked a bit of fun:eek:0 -
What's happened ?-really would like to know0

Yes, me too. I keep returning here to see what happened, but no updates.
I should be doing our bookkeeping, but I hang on the Forums after work, terrible. So I end up doing the bookkeeping at 2 am..., but I can't peel myself off from here.

What happenned to those adorable pictures of Ted? Especially one in the basket! That has to be the most adorable cat picture, his face just looks so cute, good natured, funny and happy at the same time. Really, really sweet!0 -

Still there, different thread.
I know everyone says this, put not one of those pictures do him justice.
I wish I had taken more of him..........
The one of him rolling on the drive captures him best, I do have a video of him Xmas morning (last Xmas) when he got his new jumper:rolleyes: :rotfl:
He wasn't overly keen on his prezzie:rolleyes:0 -
LOL, that's funny. He probably would have preffered some juicy piece of steak
Thanks for the link, I think that the pictures are great. And one on the bed, how comfortable can he be? That one and the basket are my favourites.
I don't actually like many cat pictures, lots of them look grumpy and aloof even when they are not. My own Zebs takes a terrible picture!
But Ted :A looks really alert and sweet, and goodnatured, like a kitten, not to talk about his beautiful fur and the most amazing color. I can only imagine how soft he must have been! Trust me, even those few photos in here show what a stunning chap he was, and how well loved and looked after. I am sure that he was even more so in real life. It really makes me want to get a pedigree cat just like that one, but I have a moggy now, who is a huge attention seeker, so I don't know how they would get along. Not very good, I think. But Ted really looks like a very special cat, I hope he is in a very good place now.
P.S.
I have just noticed now, he was a Cancerian! No wonder he was so cuddly, affectionate and home loving, Cancerians are real cuddlers and softies. Oooooh, poor thing.0 -
