making my friend a "family movie hamper" for christmas for her+hubby and kids (daughter age 13, son aged 11). Does anyone have any suggestions for suitable family films (DVD) i can put in the hamper?
I was just gonna put Blockbuster gift card in, so they could choose what they want but worried this might look cheap/not thoughtful (plus am hoping to find DVDs cheaper than what i might spend in Blockbuster!)
I can raid their DVD collection when I am visiting to check they haven't whatever you are about to suggest .....

Mum & Daughter into ponies, Dad & son into rugby. This probably doesn't help at all.

Not sure if the offer is still going but you could get DVDs for £1 from play.com using voucher codes on certain Nestle cereals.

What about some Christmassy films? HMV, Play and Amazon will have loads at a good price. There are loads to choose from, but off the top of my head: Snowman (HMV have that & Father Christmas in a double pack for £3.99 when you buy any other film)
    It's a wonderful life
    The holiday
    Love actually
Santa Claus the movie (think there were 3 altogether)
    Muppets christmas carol
    Home alone
    The Grinch
    Miracle on 34th street

Just had an email from CD wow and they have £1 off DVD's, CD's and games until 11pm tonight.

Don't forget the popcorn & hot chocolate!

It is still on and I've seen quite a lot of the cereal packs with the offers on in the past week. Tesco had coco shreddies for £1 too.

Not all of the codes work now though. I bought a couple of boxes and the terms and conditions state 31st October, only one of my codes worked.

31st Oct 2009! I fell into that mistake too. If the code is wrong, try changing the '0' to an 'o' or 'v' to a 'u'....that was another problem I had. HTH.

Nope mine says 2008 :( oh well guess I had a dodgy packet :rotfl: I might have a wander and see if I can get some more and check the dates ... would be ideal as I still have a movie hamper to do :)

Oh...sorry. Could you try calling Play and see if they'll still put it through? Might be worth a try. There are lots of boxes with the offer on round here (Ilford area), so hopefully the offer has proven so popular that they're running it longer.
