  • hi,
I got the boxes from woolworths, where they keep all their bits for cars and household stuff. They have about 12 compartments in, you just slot the bits of plastic in to make it how you want. There actually for storing nails and srews in i think. Cost £1.50 each and i bought some star stickers from asda to put on the top, for about 37p and got loads.

I fold in the small sections across the basket and tape them together. I then use the longer sections to gather at the top with a ribbon.

I can't seem to get my cellophane to wrap around my gift basket correctly. It doesn't seem wide enough, but I can't find any wider cellophane!! Can anyone help??
I am using the £1.99 baskets from wilko and bought cellophane 80cm wide, 10 meters.

Hi Ch3rrie, I am sure Rainmac won't mind me posting her link to the picture she did to help a few people with cello

I_am_mad I too would be interested. This year I have bought the children reusable ones but having seen the hampers of advent goodies I am thinking about doing my OH one so he has a little something to open every day. Need to hurry up and make a start though as December is nearly upon us and I haven't got a clue what to put in his.

    Hey, nice name btw :)

I think people seem to be doing Christmas eve baskets so maybe use the 'search this thread' link to look for them. I think people seem to be doing pjs, story books, cooking kits, reindeer food, snowman soup...

Sorry, just thought it might offer more for a search if I_am_mad had had trouble to this point in finding things.

When I was younger I couldn't have chocolate calendars as my bro was allergic so I love the advent calendars with pics in, and advent candles too!
My housemate (25 years old) still has an advent 'calendar' from her mum. Apparently last year she sent a mini washing line with little envelops on for each day.

What about some baking stuff for cookies to hang on the tree, or a 'decorate a bauble' kit with some glitter glue and cheap baubles? Or you could look at something they add to every day like a little journal book with Christmassy questions. Or a challenge every day to make them look outside themselves at Christmas eg. say kind words to 3 people today...
