    Whoever came up with the idea of using a pint glass to present black socks & a cream-coloured flannel on top...Thankyouthankyouthankyou :kisses: I found a case of a certain irish stout on a goodly offer & then remembered this little nugget..went down a storm!
    Now if I could fathom how to do lager & the vodka-n-scarlet male cow.........

    Ooh, I might make a ginger hamper for my Nan! She loves ginger and loved her pamper hamper last year. I'm thinking-

    -Ginger Options (thanks, thevicster)
    -Ginger in syrup (in a jar)
    -Chocolate ginger
    -Home-made ginger biscuits

    I think I'm getting into the hamper mentality again! We need some more finished ones to look at on here so I'll try and make a start and post some pics!

    I'm going to do a ginger hamper for my Dad too here some things I've thought of if it helps you out;

    Jamacian (sp) ginger cake
    ginger wine
    Dove peach and white ginger body wash
    Avon mango and ginger 2 in 1
    ginger preserve/rhubarb and ginger jam
    possibly Green & Blacks ginger chocolate
    Whittards gingerbread coffee syrup
    Lemon and Ginger teabags
    possibly a yankee candle

    hth!!

  • Fantastic hampers everyone, I made some last Christmas for my kids and will be doing so again this year, will try to post some pictures too.
    Thanks for all your great ideas!
  • I am lacking inspiration this year for my hampers! They went down so well last year I want to do them again, I need to buy for;

    Mum and Dad (mid 50's) - last year I did a wine and nibbles hamper with a photo of my daughters inside.

    Brother (25)

    Brother (20)

    Sister (18)

    Grandad's x2 (one likes golf and shows birds, the other likes gardening and pottering around doing odd jobs) - last year I did a golf hamper and a gardening one.

  • I've decided to make a christening basket for my friends son who will be christened in 3 weeks. i have the basket and will call into my local florist in the hope of grabbing some cheap cello and ribbon. Now i need to know what to put into it? I was thinking of some clothing, picture in frame of him and brother and some children's books. I want it to have things that can be kept (such as photo) and practical items such as clothing and books. Does anybody have any other ideas? and where I can get them cheaply? I have a B&M's nearby that usually house some treasures.
    Thanks

    Ooh, how could I forget Ginger Wine! I love the idea of ginger preserve too as that is a personal favourite of mine. I've got a nice little basket to use so might actually try and get this made this weekend!

    Check out the nappy cake thread for some ideas of what you could include. How old is the little one being Christened (sorry if that is a silly question but my niece was two, so obviously quite different from a baby of a few weeks old). I think a nice blanket or shawl is always nice, definitely a photo in a nice frame, a mini bottle of champagne for Mum and Dad?

    Thevicster - do they still do the opera glasses? what about a snazzy tie to go with the shirt that
    dOnna suggested? what about contacting your theater ahead of time and putting in one of the lighted wand(sticks - like mini lightsabers) they sell?
