Do you have a Hobbycraft near you? Their prices can sometimes be quite steep (not always) but it can be a good place to go and look, find something you like and them look around for the same but cheaper.
I know Hobbycraft among other places have had deals on Papermania scrapbooking albums (some come with papers and embellishments to get you started straight away)... http://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/productlist.asp?CatID=69&BCat=21,69&rootcatid=21&Brand=&a=resetsearch
Same/similar albums here...

ebay can be a good place to look for albums.
I had a lovely scrapbook set from QVC when I did one for my best friend's 30th. Or use a photo album and buy the paper seperately.
There's some craft shows coming up at the end of the month & next month if you're near London.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27
