Just to say as well that some of the stuff I got I'll use again and again!! LOL! Like the wooden 'Love' blocks - that'll be used every year from now on in OHs valentine hampers for decoration - that means I can spend less and less each year just adding the sweety bits and alcohol etc! Oh and also I didn't mention that the 'I Love you' heart shaped cushion was free - OH actually gave it to me about 15 years ago for valentines!! Cheeky aren't I but it looks nice... ha ha!

Something else I mean't to mention is that poundstretcher has still got their sale on baskets - got a couple today - one for £1.87 and one for £1.49. Oh and also Sainsburys calendars are all down to 50p each if anyone still needs them!! I bought two - one of them was actually a calendar, pad & pen original price £6.99 and the other one I'm going to put in OHs valentine hamper and I think was about £5 originally - here are photos...

OH valentine - His n Hers cheeky calendar (for in the kitchen)

Pink Kitten calendar, jotter & pen set (for in my craft room!)

  • thanks so much for the lloyds link, I spent 28.35 and it should have been 58.70.

A few stocking fillers and some gifts for hamers throughout the year!
    Debt free wannabe
Littlewoods - £214.82 (DD set up so 0%)
    Very - £100 (0% on BNPL - 1/4/13)
    CC - £2600/£3533.53 (0% until 1/6/14)

I'm doing a gardening hamper for a girl who used to live with us but think I've more or less got everything for it -have to double check.
I got a box of 'gardeners hand care' stuff (unwanted gift) from one of the charity shops at the end of last year, got gardening gloves, garden journal, little candle in terracotta flower pot, trowel and fork and am doing a 'pot of sunshine'............some dwarf sunflower seeds in a gravy granule pot with some gold covered chocs..............then got to make some plant markers (lolly sticks with daisies on top)

That'll be my first basket for this year.............really stuck on her husband though. He's a Formula One/Grand Prix chap and his birthdays Feb 4th:eek: So far I've got nothing !!

Popkins your hamper looks fab! I can't wait to put mine together now.

With regards to Qudico and car insurance I've used them for the past two years and had some very good cashback deals, well worth a look!

Mary Are you hoping to do a hamper for the husband?
    :xmassmile Looking forward to December:xmassmile

hels - last year I bought a faux leather box and put all sorts of odds and ends in it and christmas he had some bits of nonsense -retro sweet box, loo roll chum, stuff like that.
I did think about looking on the Firebox site and see what was on there -maybe a remote control car, something like that (if its cheap -not being mean but always try and stick to a budget.

Thanks Hels - remember to post pictures when you put it together! Just thought to say that the red box I'm using was part of 3 for 2 in Matalan - got it at crimbo time but its perfect for Valentines - they've still got some of them in stock and they're even cheaper now at half price! Are you the Helen who just sent me Facebook friend request?

Does anyone else get confused with all the different forum threads? I am getting totally befuddled!!! doesn't take much these days mind you!! Haven't had the greatest of days today so its nice to have all these crafty things to take my mind off the crapiness of my problems!

NZK83 loving the baking hamper idea
I have a neice and nephew who love to cook so could make one of those up next year maybe instead of a stocking
must write all these ideas down !

I have made baking hampers for children, they go down very well! I use a baking tin to put the stuff in, and include an apron, a towel a timer, then fill it up with different other stuff.
    Loving the sunny days!

mary, these sites may give you some hints - beware - all very expensive... http://www.devotedtosport.co.uk/sports/motorsport.aspx?source=adwords&kw=formula%20one%20gift&gclid=CO2yqIDlppgCFQaA3godekeHcw

You could buy a mini racing car and do a certificate or something saying he is the proud owner of an F1 car?
Make your own newspaper page of OH as F1 driver (can print these from screen and not pay for them to print it)... http://www.inthepaper.co.uk/default.aspx?defArt=494&defMasthead=2&gclid=CIyDgtHmppgCFQaA3godekeHcw
Could you find a map/photo of an F1 circuit, print onto card, cut up into jigsaw type pieces and pop into a little box?
Make a book of vouchers for your OH to redeem - things like, I (mary) promise to sit through an F1 race without asking any silly questions, I promise to make you as many cups of tea as you ask for during one F1 race...
Make your own mug - plain white mug in Asda, 25p and write/draw something on it - F1 Champ, F1 Fan...
Lots of Lewis Hamilton books... http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_b?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=lewis+hamilton

Sorry out of ideas now ;)

I have too many ideas too and they are all getting mixed up in my head . I need a few hours on my own to get them all down in a notebook. Have bought the book, just need to find the time to write ;)
