Shelly,
Where in UK are you?
I have done vasts amounts of research on this topic into various sources of treatment and where it is available
Are you aware that Gamma Knife is offered at the Sheffield Childrens Hospital?
It is along the same lines as proton therapy but is obviously FREE within the NHS
Also has a good treatment rate0 -
Hi, we are in Northamptonshire.
I will pass on this info to the parents - I wasn't aware of that no, however, they may be. How would you get referred to that hospital though?

Thanks
Parents would need to speak to their oncologist - Happy to pass on the vast amount of information i have - even regarding proton therapy
As previously stated it may be of benefit to chat to each other as a businessman I have alot of contacts who are helping us out already0 -
It may also be worth the parents getting into contact with their MP. I know our MP assisted with writing some letters for a friend our ours whose daughter had a medical condition and they needed funds for something that wasn't paid for on the NHS.
I'm not saying he could magic up any funds, but may be able to point you in the direction of some things you have not thought of yet.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
You are welcome and I hope it did not take much time to change the details.sonicshelly wrote: »Thanks ahai1
I thought I had missed something. I was pulled up on it right at the beginning when we first started raising funds and didn't realise. I had to through my site and change it all to fundraising instead of charity.
Thanks though, much appreciated.0 -
Just a thought - I know you said that you didn't want to do a ball because of the money spent on clothing.. but have you thought about having an alternative ball - like a Tramp's Ball (where everyone has to dress as a tramp obviously!) or a Jeans Ball (doesn't everyone on the planet own a pair of jeans?)
Good Luck with your fundraising0 -

Hello, is it for the 3F8 antibody treatment you are trying to raise funds for? Do you know 2simpletrust, they help families fundraise for treatment for it, their addy is http://www.2simpletrust.org/ also we (Post Pals) support children going through Neuroblastoma, our addy is www.postpals.co.uk
Best of luck with the fundraising,
VikkiBest wins in 2013 £200 and Mini iPad. 2014 no wins. 2015 2 nights 5* hotel with £300 vouchers plus £1150 Harrods gift card
Rehome an unwanted prize or gift with a seriously ill child through Postpals.co.uk0 -
I note from your first post that you have done a collection at your local supermarket, but what about doing bag packing, especially with it coming up to Xmas and shoppers having trolley loads of groceries.
I did it with my DS years ago for his local swimming club and we raised quite a bit. Sorry can't remember the exact figure. People are possibly more likely to donate money to this than to someone just standing there with a bucket (as you can easily be not noticed).Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
How about a car wash or a jumble sale?0
