AMEX cardholders - anyone else getting lots of phone calls?

A few years ago, I was getting frequent calls from Amex. I wrote in asking them to stop marketing calls, they wrote back with an apologetic letter saying they had updated my marketing preferences. They haven't called me since.0

I get a call from them about every two or three months, but my standard response is "If you are trying to sell me anything, I'm not interested. Goodbye"0

Never had a single call except the initial one to inform me that my application had been successful.0

I've had one call trying to get me to add an additional card holder to the account. I politely declined

just give them a phone and I'm sure they will be more than happy to arrange one. My OH and I have had joint cards since we got together, probably 6-7 in total now. Remember though that the debt remains the sole responsibility of the main account holder so you have to trust the other person.0

I get calls from time to time, but never in the sort of spate that you seem to be getting.
I'm getting quite adept at spotting marketing calls, they're the ones where the phone is initially silent while they try to connect you to a salesman in Mumbai. I just hang up.0 -
I get calls every few months trying to sell me something. I find them annoying, but not that frequent, they are always polite and usually American sounding.
Last time they were selling some card which gave you discounts on things I never buy. What I find really iritating is that when I have politely listened to their sales pitch and I say "No", they then always say "Why not?" At that point I get annoyed. I have not asked for their phone call and I do not see why I should have to justify my decision not to buy what they are selling.0
