AMEX cardholders - anyone else getting lots of phone calls?

I have an AMEX moneyback card. Is anyone else receiving lots of phone calls from AMEX? I had six separate calls yesterday evening trying to sell me something. So far I have had one tonight.
When applying for cards if there is an option to not be contacted, I always tick the box. I have had this card since May and have never had a problem with them before.

I occasionally get a spate of calls to the house until I'm actually present to answer it. Once I've answered, they stop until the next time.
Invariably they're selling PPI and other crud. (Amex Plat 5% one.)Conjugating the verb 'to be":

I haven't had any calls from them either.(amex cashback)..are they genuine calls.0

Genuine as in "they're from Amex," yes. Genuine as in "I'm glad they called," no.
At least mine were.Conjugating the verb 'to be":

I've had a couple, but deal with them by
1. Sorry I'm cooking dinner please call back at the weekend
2. Sorry the kids are in the bath please call back

I deal with them by asking after their first leading question "Is this for PPI?" and on an affirmative, reply "No thank you - I'm fully covered."Conjugating the verb 'to be":

Yes! My husband is the main acount holder and they called for weeks a couple of times a day. I asked if it was a sales call which they said for security reasons they were unable to tell me . I ended up having a go at the person at the end of the line, which is really unlike me, but it was always as I was putting the kids to bed, we wrote a complaint letter to Amex as we had specified that we did not want to have any calls. They have stopped now, and we got an apology letter from Amex.0

Yup. I always seem to have been selected to receive a special offer. I always say no thank you and put the phone down.0

I've yet to have one for a 'special offer' - they usually start off with generic sounding questions, which I learnt from other CC providers, are preludes to 'use our PPI.' Or other guff they're intending to try and sell me.Conjugating the verb 'to be":
