Help Pc Setup Trouble

hi guys i need some help does anyone much about base units as my dear son delated something i know what it looks like but i dont know were it is,lets see if i can explane..
on the connections were it says bb and you have 2 screens with the world in the middle,and under it it has 2 more screens with like a tbar in the middle,if anyone knows what im on about,well that what im missing and cant find it and i really need to fix it soon as i cant afford a repair man,any ideas you lovly lot

    what OS are you running? WinXP? Vista? Win98 :-)

    The OS is your Operating system. I.E WindowsXP Home, Windows Vista,

    What does ity say when you boot up? xp or vista?

    What have you lost? Do you mean you cannot see your network? Do you mean you want to look at your network places?

    If so, click start > control panel > hover over 'network connections' and then right click, then left click on open.... is that the screen you mean?

    ive lost my internet access as i cant get the pc to run through the modem,every things working ok im just missing the way to connect to the internet my so has deleated the program/setting.i think

    im running windows xp pro,i can access the computer and it all loads up ok but when i try to connect to the internet it says cant find the program so i cant get on the net
