My delivery came and not only had they charged me the £2, they had substituted 2 for other selection packs costing about £4, despite me selecting no substitutions. I sent them all back and the driver said he had loads of them to take back to the shop - I must live near loads of MSE'rs lol

maybe she ordered them online while the £1 offer was still on and opted for today as the delivery day, they could only have charged her the £1 price surely!??!

No they charge you the 'price instore on the day of delivery' or words like that. They also say on the receipt if anything is more than you wanted to pay, just send it back with the driver for a full refund.

They're sods when it comes to things like this. I order a 1kg joint of meat, a 2kg one turns up, obviously at twice the price I wanted to pay. A couple of weeks ago they had lamb on offer, I ordered a joint for about £7, I ended up paying £13 for the one they sent - I had to keep it as no meat for Sunday otherwise :(. Today I had ordered 0.5kg loose brussels sprouts, I got over 1kg - they went back as well .

ETA - These are issues with the picker selecting things over and above what I ordered as I ALWAYS select no substitutions.

Asda's policy is much better - if they don't have what you ordered they substitute but only charge the amount of the item ordered. Never had a bad sub yet - last week got large pack of sirloin steak for 3£.50 - should have been nearly £7 :D Tescos take note!!!!!!!
Lloyds (Bank a/c) £2101.76 :jCapital One claiming £933.17 inc interest Halifax Card claiming £1143.75 inc. interest - £450 accepted as part payment only
    Mint (RBS) £60 - accepted £25.85:j
    Lloyds Card - £663.18
    Barclaycard -£1951.70 inc. interest :j

I used to get deliveries from Asda at our old house and I loved their substitutions. Asda have just started doing home delivery here so I considered it. I've just done next weeks shop through Sainsburys (although I begrudge paying towards Jamie Olivers wages as I can't stand the bloke, but that's a whole other thread lol).

  • Hiya, I am expecting my shopping tonight and I have just spoken to customer services to clarify the price of these selection boxes. They have assured me that if you ordered them at the £1 price then they will refund you if you are overcharged. The £1 was a pricing error all along (according to the chap on the phone) but they will honour it if you call them.

Because the offer IS on til the 11th, they have just changed the price due to the 'error'.
