Simple....buy a mug, get some cellophane and ribbon (flower shop or crafty place), buy cheap chocolate (a 1 quid selection box will do). Split the box, put in the mug and decorate to look pretty.
People get something nice and don't realise that its essentially a selection box.

Well I couldn't get to Tesco until weekend so decided to order online and earliest delivery slot I could get was tonight. Never entered my head that they wouldn't pick my order until today and cadburys selection boxes were sold out so they substituted 10 of those with 2 maltesers! Did get the 10 Mars ones I ordered tho. I will have to make number up with hopefully another offer at some point as need 18 for daughters classmates. Bit annoying when I ordered before the offer even started, but I am still happy, I got 12 so still a big saving.
I also ordered 4 bottles of Negra Merlot rose wine on offer and they substituted them for 1 bottle of Froze Rose which I have never heard of! Couple of other things on offer out of stock too. My first online order and will probably be the last. One learns by experience LOL0 -

Sorry, should have explained better! I will take a nice mug, add a couple of the bars from these selection boxes and a couple of other goodies (ie toy / toiletries / hot chocolate ingredients) and cellophane wrap them with a bow - this will make a cheap but fab gift.

It seems this offer has closed early due to high demand and replaced with a 99p off one, as the selection boxes are online at £2 now and I see on hotukdeals that a poster who went instore early today has found that they have now also been put up instore to that as well.0

[rant] I have a Tesco delivery every Friday morning and I've noticed lately that a lot of the really good offers like this one seem to finish unexpectedly early on a Thursday to be replaced on a Friday with a not-so-good offer.
I thought it was my imagination for a while, but it seems like almost every week things like this rise in price over night on a Thursday. The cynic in me says that maybe Friday is their busiest delivery day and hence things go up on a Thursday night and a lot of customers don't notice/don't check/take the goods anyway.
Mine are going back when the delivery comes because I am sick of this happening. I think I might start doing my groceries through Asda delivery as I like their replacement policy (if it's still in place). I stuck with Tesco because of the clubcard points but with extra points codes and offers so thin on the ground, I'm beginning to think it's not worth it anymore. Typical Tesco, none left yesterday, £2 today, yet offer supposed to go on till next Wednesday.
A one day ( not the promised week) wonder. :rolleyes2:rolleyes2:rolleyes2.
And they will tell you the customer comes first, durr!

I have just taken delivery of my online order which included 4 of the Cadbury selection boxes. I noticed on my delivery note that I had been charged £2 each insted of the expected £1. I went straight on the telephone to Customer Services and they refunded the difference straight back to me no questions asked. It makes me mad when they do this, but actually the Customer Services have never queried anything when I have rang to complain regarding the use by dates on stuff they have delivered and have always given me a no quibble refund - so I feel very happy now.
